A Delightful Visit to Taepung Susahn 1997 in Jamsil

Hello!
Before this winter ends,
I went to enjoy some delicious yellowtail.
Why is yellowtail so tasty these days?
But you know you can't just go anywhere for yellowtail.
You need to go to a really good sashimi restaurant!
I heard a lot of great reviews about a newly opened sashimi restaurant in Jamsil called Taepung Susahn 1997.
Located right in the heart of Jamsil,
it has a great atmosphere and excellent food quality.
I’ll share my experience of indulging in their rich yellowtail.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by large aquariums right in front of the restaurant.
I couldn't believe there was such a sashimi place in Jamsil!
The aquariums were filled with lively seafood, and I spent quite a while admiring them before going inside.
All the tanks were impeccably clean, as the owner cleans them daily.
Moreover, they manage their seafood supply personally, ensuring freshness.
This place is known for its chewy texture and rich umami flavor!
Honestly, I thought it would just be a typical drinking spot, but it exceeded my expectations as a serious sashimi restaurant.
Once inside, I was surprised by the stylish and hip interior.
The soft lighting and beautiful design make it perfect for a date.
Plus, there was no fishy smell, so I could enjoy the seafood comfortably.
The spacious dining area is also great for gatherings or company dinners.
We visited on a weekday and were lucky to get in right away, but be aware that there might be a wait.
If the restaurant is full, there is a 2-hour and 40-minute time limit for your meal.
They have a self-service bar for sauces, ginger, and other accompaniments.
Each table is equipped with a tablet for easy ordering, including the must-have spicy soup at the end of the meal.
The menu offers a variety of sets, individual sashimi, and seafood dishes, including pasta and desserts.
I ordered squid ink pasta and a mixed sashimi set with yellowtail and sea bream.
The sashimi was fresh and delicious, and the squid ink pasta was rich and satisfying.
The generous side dishes included kimchi pancakes, cheese corn, and shrimp tempura, perfect for enjoying with drinks.
The owner really knows how to provide a great dining experience.
As we were leaving, they even gave us hand warmers, which was a lovely touch!
With great service, delicious food, and a pleasant atmosphere, I would definitely return!
