A Day Trip to And Terrace Paju: A Relaxing Escape Near Seoul

(A blogger who starts with the location without introduction)
It was a beautiful weekend.
I dislike crowds, so I'm usually just wandering around near my house on weekends,
a pitiful Seoulite…
Something's missing! I feel so stifled!
I wanted to get away! That's when it hit me.
Recently, some close friends had been raving about how great Paju is.
That's how I ended up taking a spontaneous trip to Paju.
‘And Terrace Paju’ was a place my boyfriend said he'd seen a lot on Instagram.
He suggested, “Want to check it out?”
(Rare for him to do something thoughtful!)
As soon as I saw it, I was like, ‘Oh, this place!’
Anyone who's spent some time browsing cafes on Instagram
has probably seen it at least once.
I was a little worried about how crowded it might be.
But I thought, ‘If it's too packed, we'll just go to another cafe.’
So, we set off!
I didn't get a chance to take a photo when we arrived,
so I quickly snapped one of the exterior when we were leaving.
My first impression was, ‘Wow, it's huge!’
It felt like standing in front of a castle wall.
There's parking in front of the building.
This photo was taken around 6:30 PM.
We arrived around 4 PM,
and at that time, there was a parking attendant guiding people!

Following their directions,
we went down to the underground parking lot.
The parking lot is seriously grand! So grand!
The fact that the parking lot is this big means
they can accommodate this many people...
How big is this cafe, anyway?
We entered with a buzz of anticipation.
You shouldn't have to worry about parking at all.
This is it! Everyone's seen this on Instagram!
Wow, the ceiling is incredibly high,
and it's so spacious! ㄷㄷ
So, there are a lot of stairs, haha.
Maybe the number of stairs is a warning to be careful.
I didn't check if there was an elevator on site,
but after looking at other bloggers' reviews,
there is an elevator!
People with mobility issues
should be able to use it comfortably.

It seems they also sell brunch items like pasta!
Just looking at the menu makes my mouth water…
You can order on the first floor!
There's a separate area for returning trays.
As soon as I walked in here,
I thought, ‘People like me who get lost easily are going to get lost here...?’
But very kindly and fortunately,
there are signs everywhere,
so just look around carefully as you wander around. ^^
A bread lover is happy…
There were so many breads,
including cookies and baked goods.
I didn't take a picture,
but I ate an Earl Grey canelé and a kouign-amann.
Yum, yum, slurp.

Another good thing:
They utilized the empty space under the stairs leading to the second floor
to set up a self-service bar.
You can get forks, knives, etc. here,
you can heat or cut your bread,
and you can even pack up leftover bread to go!
So convenient!
But what I liked most of all, above all else,
was the atmosphere of this cafe…
The landscaping is amazing.
Also, as a plant enthusiast, I confirmed that
the railings are fake, but the potted plants are real.
(How do they manage it all…)

This is a bridge you can cross to the other side.
The incline is quite steep, so be careful.
Make sure to grip with your big toes when going up and down.
High ceilings…
Open sky…
Large windows…
Clear skies…
Bliss.
If you go on a nice day,
the sky will definitely be beautiful,
but even if it's raining or snowing,
I think it would be very charming.
+
And the best part:
There weren't as many people as I expected!
I was worried it would be packed since it's a famous place,
but the size of the cafe definitely helped.
It was much quieter and
more pleasant than any cafe in Seoul.
+
Another thing to keep in mind!
There weren't many outlets near the seats.
I didn't look everywhere,
so there might be plenty on the other side,,
but at least in the areas I passed through,
there weren't many outlets.
So, I thought it might not be
the best place to come and study.
With weather this nice,
it's a great cafe to drive to and
visit at your leisure!
Why not pencil it in for this weekend?
