Rain Report Rainbow

33-7, Supyo-ro 28-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul

Hours: 10:30 AM - 8:30 PM

No Parking

Takeout Available

Struggling to choose between Euljiro and Ikseon-dong, and considering it was a rainy day, I decided to visit Rain Report Rainbow, a place I'd wanted to try!

Atmosphere

The exterior is truly Ikseon-dong style, haha.

Impression

Inside the Cafe

There's a terrace, but it was unavailable due to the rain.

The 'Hotel Cinema' concept is eye-catching.

The interior resembles a Lush store: dark walls, large, bold white font, and colorful products.

Hopeful Tomorrow

Even though the concept is weather-related, the black walls felt unfamiliar, but surprisingly, the green items matched well.

I kept wondering if the products were bath items or actual food...

The displays and items were quite peculiar, lol.

And most of the customers were foreign tourists.

Menu

The counter and dessert area are vertically narrow.

I feel bad for taking pictures and inconveniencing other customers. My apologies! ㅠ.ㅠ

I couldn't find a separate drink menu. You have to order directly at the counter, which was difficult for a perpetually indecisive person like me... T.T

Fun Times

I only managed to photograph the coffee menu. Other options are available on a tablet!

The coffee menu is very simple:

Espresso, Long Black

Cafe Latte, Vanilla Latte

To the left of the counter, there are canned/bottled drinks and cakes in the showcase.

Mysterious Look

Green Snap / Sunny Blend / Bold Berry

Purple Mute (Blueberry Latte)

Mild Brown (Milk Tea Latte)

Pink Punch (Peach Juice)

Yellow Rush (Mango, Passion Fruit Juice)

Desserts are displayed below the drinks!!

Dragon Fruit Lychee Fromage

Honey Grapefruit Black Tea Fromage

Chestnut Tiramisu

Matcha Tiramisu

They also have a premium line inspired by the seasons:

Attractive Photo

Winter Gingerbread Apple Cake

Autumn Honey Fig Cake (Sold Out ㅠ)

Summer Black Caramel Blueberry Cake

Spring Matcha Cake

Whole Melon Cake

Fun Times

Continuing with the desserts...

Opposite the display, there's a self-service bar with cutlery, tongs, tissues, wet wipes, and trays.

My attention was drawn to the butter cakes.

But matching the name tags to the cakes was difficult.

Am I just dumb...? haha

Glamorous Scene

Lemon / Fig Butter Cake

The tag seems to point to the left, but it's in front of the strawberry on the right, causing confusion.

However, based on a name tag that was further away, this is probably Basil Strawberry Butter Cake.

This one looks like Sun Smashed...

Lemon Butter Cake, lol.

Carrot Butter Cake, but again, the tag is next to the strawberry, causing confusion #2.

Hopeful Tomorrow

The right one must be the Carrot Butter Cake...

Still, it's so pretty, I took another picture.

So sparkly.

These are Heart Madeleines.

You can get them as a review service.

Lemon / Pistachio / Salted Chocolate

Peaceful Landscape

Dacquoise as well:

Passion Fruit Mango / Pistachio Strawberry

Corn Scone

Earl Grey Lemon Scone

Maple Bacon Scone

The thick chocolate coating on the Financier looked so tempting.

Happy Times

Salted Caramel Nuts and...

Another type I couldn't identify.

Pistachio Pound Cake

For a moment, I was confused whether I was in a cafe or a Lush store.

But it was a fun concept, lol.

Amazing Spectacle

It's fun to see the various products and clever names, but the display wasn't very intuitive, so it felt a bit inconvenient.

Taste Review

Luckily, I was able to sit at the bar.

It seems popular because of the view, haha.

Valuable Experience

I had a warm Cafe Latte.

Arong had an Iced Cafe Latte.

Special Moment

The Cafe Latte had a good balance of smoothness and bitterness.

A warm latte is the best on a rainy day.

I bought the Chestnut Tiramisu for Arong.

Hopeful Tomorrow

It wasn't clear whether it tasted like chocolate or chestnut. The grated chocolate powder was very smooth.

The chestnut cream wasn't too sweet and was delicious.

But it wasn't really a tiramisu... the ladyfingers weren't soaked in espresso?

There were a few pieces of candied chestnut inside.

Hopeful Tomorrow

The ladyfingers were very moist and delicious, but it wasn't particularly memorable.

And unable to resist the desire to own the beautiful desserts,

I confiscated Arong's card and bought some to-go!

Lemon Butter Cake (8,500 KRW)

Earl Grey Lemon Scone (5,000 KRW)

+ Got a Pistachio Strawberry Dacquoise as part of a review event!
