Looking for a place to visit during the Seollal holiday? Check out the Namwon Herb Valley Sledding Park!

Nestled at an altitude of 600m on the slopes of Jirisan's Baraebong, the Jirisan Herb Valley is a healing destination featuring the largest azalea cluster in Korea. Visitors can enjoy various experiences, including guided tours and pot-making, at the herb-themed garden and experiential farm. In winter, the sledding park operates, making it especially popular among families.

The ticket booth at the Jirisan Baraebong sledding park displays entrance fees and operating hours clearly. The sledding park is open until February 18, with operating hours from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Entrance fees are 10,000 KRW, while Namwon citizens and children aged 3 to under 6 are charged 8,000 KRW. Disabled individuals and veterans pay 6,000 KRW, and residents of Unbong and children under 3 can enter for free.

The Jirisan Namwon Baraebong sledding festival, which offers unique winter memories in the Jirisan plateau basin, is now celebrating its 12th edition. Each year, it fills with the laughter of families and children, establishing itself as a representative winter festival of Jirisan.

Next to the sledding area, children can freely play, building caves and igloos in the snow. The sight of families laughing and rolling in the snow brings smiles to onlookers. Adults, too, seem to return to their childhood, enjoying the warm winter scenery.

The sledding park, surrounded by mountains, offers a picturesque winter landscape. Sledding in nature creates special memories and is a safe space for winter fun with children.

The large sledding area stretches up to 140m, overwhelming in size compared to other parks. The exhilarating ride down against the backdrop of Jirisan creates unforgettable winter memories.

Parents can comfortably sled down with their children, as it doesn’t appear too scary or dangerous. Everyone seems to enjoy the moment like a child.

This area features a 120m-long sledding park specifically for children. Designed for kids under 8, it allows parents to watch with peace of mind. Contrary to expectations, this area is quite spacious, providing ample fun for children.

Families, friends, and acquaintances all enjoy sledding with smiles. Each moment spent climbing back up with sleds evokes childhood memories. We can see a mother carefully taking her child up the slope.

After some sledding, it’s time for a break. It’s always disappointing when there are no food options in such play areas. Fortunately, a large food stall is located below the sledding park, offering warm snacks and drinks for a relaxing rest.

The food stall features winter favorites like fish cakes, pork cutlets, warm cup noodles, tteokbokki, and kimbap. Orders can be placed directly with staff or through kiosks for convenience.

But sledding alone isn’t enough. The park also offers various rides, including a Viking ship and mini train, ensuring a fun-filled day for kids.

Organized by the Unbong Love Association, this festival allows visitors to enjoy various winter experience programs centered around the sledding park. The Herb Valley sledding park, set against the snowy landscape of Baraebong, promises to create wonderful memories.
