Ulsan's Transformation: A City of the Future
울산광역시 중구 태화로 300

Ulsan is currently experiencing a truly happy time.
In the flow of a new era, Ulsan is stepping beyond its image as an industrial city of the past, preparing for the future.
In line with the changing times, Ulsan is evolving into a city that contemplates new industries and focuses on sustainable growth, enhancing the quality of life for its citizens.
One of the most notable changes is the improvement of living conditions.
Ulsan is transforming into a 'city people want to stay in,' maintaining a harmonious life with its residential environment, leisure, culture, and nature.
Additionally, the development of transportation infrastructure has made daily life more convenient, enhancing the city's connectivity through improved transit options and expanded routes.
At the center of this transformation is the upcoming 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo.
While it may still feel like a distant future, Ulsan is already preparing step by step for a successful event.
Changes are beginning with small initiatives that connect people and nature through gardens and green spaces throughout the city.
The start of this change can be seen at the Taehwagang National Garden, where the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo will be held.
Taehwagang National Garden is a representative landmark of Ulsan and the second national garden designated in South Korea.
Although it reached a serious state due to pollution and damage during the industrialization process, our long-term efforts have restored the ecosystem, and it now stands as a pride of Ulsan, worthy of its name as a national garden.
Currently, Taehwagang National Garden offers expansive views along the river with seasonal landscapes, presenting a 'resting place in the city' or 'everyday life in nature' that anyone can freely enjoy.
Taehwa-ro, which offers a panoramic view of the Taehwagang River, is a symbolic space that embodies the time Ulsan has connected nature and the city, past and present.
Moreover, it serves as a precious cultural heritage that connects Ulsan's historical flow with its current state, rather than just a viewpoint.
The charm of Taehwa-ro lies in its understated elegance, which naturally draws visitors, and this is why I frequently visit.
Of course, the breathtaking views cannot be overlooked.
I am always grateful for the opportunity to see the ever-changing Taehwagang River and the expansive city of Ulsan without any obstructions.
It is a landscape so beautiful that no painting is needed.
What do you think?
If you wish to visit, please refer to the guidelines and visiting hours for Taehwa-ro.
To maximize the enjoyment of this scenery, the Taehwa-ro Skywalk has been constructed to provide a more immersive experience of its value and landscape.
On December 18, a completion ceremony for the Taehwa-ro Skywalk was held with the Mayor of Ulsan, the Chairperson of the Ulsan City Council, and over 200 citizens in attendance.
Constructed last October, the Taehwa-ro (Yonggeumso) Skywalk is 20 meters wide and 35 meters long, showcasing a grand appearance.
Many hope that this Skywalk will become a landmark, connecting Taehwagang National Garden, Taehwa-ro, and Taehwa Market as a hub for ecology, culture, and tourism.
However, currently, finishing touches such as facility inspections are underway, and it is expected to officially open on December 24.
