Ulsan Child Culture Pass: Supporting Families with Children

If you are a family with children, there is a policy you should check out.
The Ulsan Child Culture Pass, implemented by Ulsan Metropolitan City, is a program that supports elementary school students aged 7 to 12 who are registered as residents in Ulsan with a prepaid card worth 100,000 KRW annually.
The aim is to alleviate the economic burden on families raising children by promoting cultural, artistic, and sports activities, while also reducing cultural disparities.
As of 2026, the eligible applicants are elementary school-aged children currently registered as residents in Ulsan. If the child's address matches that of their legal guardian, the guardian can apply.
Applications can be submitted online or in person. Online applications can be made through the Ulsan Child Culture Pass website, allowing for convenient registration from home.
For those who find online applications difficult, in-person registration can be done at the local administrative welfare center. The application period for 2026 is from March 3 to December 11. While the period is generous, it is advisable to apply early as the program operates within budget constraints.
The support amount is 100,000 KRW per child, provided as a prepaid card, which can be used in specified cultural and sports sectors.
After receiving the card, be sure to check the expiration date. The usage period is from the date of issuance until December 31 of that year. Any remaining balance will automatically expire after the deadline.
The card can be used at BC Card affiliated stores in Ulsan that comply with regulations in cultural, sports, and entertainment fields. Not all stores accept the card, so it is necessary to confirm before payment.
It can be used at academies for performing arts such as music, art, and dance, but does not cover academic subject academies like Korean, English, or math.
Additionally, it can be used at major festivals like the Ulsan Maduhee Festival and Ulsan Whale Festival, as well as cultural facilities like the Cultural Street and Whale Culture Special Zone.
Payments can also be made at bookstores, second-hand bookstores, music stores, and record shops, including cinemas, performance halls, galleries, museums, and craft experience spaces.
You can also use it to purchase tickets for professional sports events and buy sports equipment like bicycles. Access to public and private sports facilities is available as well.
It can be utilized for visits to local attractions such as city tours, historical sites, and botanical gardens, as well as theme parks like kids' cafes.
However, please note that refunds for remaining balances are not allowed, and the card cannot be reissued if lost, so it's important to manage the card carefully.
Children's experiences lead to growth. We recommend that you encourage your child to engage in a variety of cultural activities through the Ulsan Child Culture Pass.
