The First Housing-Specific Youth Support Center Opens in Ulsan
울산광역시 남구 봉월로38번길 32 종하이노베이션센터 3층

South Korea’s first housing-specific youth support center has opened in Nam-gu, Ulsan, offering practical solutions to youth housing challenges.
More than an administrative office, the center functions as a real-life space where young people can receive consultations, connect with housing resources, and build community.
A First-of-Its-Kind Youth Housing Support Center
This center marks a meaningful milestone as the first housing-specific youth support center established in Ulsan.
It was created to address real housing concerns faced by young people, moving beyond policy-based assistance toward hands-on, usable support.
The opening ceremony took place on December 9 at the Korea Land and Housing Corporation Ulsan Housing Welfare Office, located at 220 Dojil-ro in Nam-gu.
Public–Private Collaboration for Practical Impact
The center is a collaborative model developed through a partnership between the city of Ulsan, LH, and the Youth Foundation.
It has drawn attention for transforming youth housing policy from an administrative framework into a space young people can actively use.
This approach highlights a shift toward on-the-ground solutions that respond directly to everyday housing needs.
Small Space, Thoughtful Design
The center occupies approximately 43 square meters of previously unused space within the Ulsan Housing Welfare Office in Daldong.
Although compact, the layout was carefully designed to maximize functionality and comfort.
Inside, visitors will find areas for casual conversation and rest, private consultation rooms for housing concerns, and a shared kitchen that encourages natural interaction.
Mini-Workation and Community Spaces
A small mini-workation area allows young people to work, study, or handle simple tasks in a calm environment.
By combining housing support with everyday spaces, the center creates a welcoming place where youth can stay, communicate, and feel secure.
One-Stop Housing Welfare Services
A key strength of the center is its one-stop service model.
Young visitors can receive housing welfare consultations, rental housing connections, and financial or administrative guidance all in one place.
This integrated approach reduces barriers for youth who may otherwise struggle to navigate housing systems on their own.
Expanding Access and Education
To improve accessibility, the center plans to offer mobile housing consultations for young people who are unable to visit in person.
It will also run educational programs focused on housing, helping youth systematically understand housing options and prepare for future stability.
Building Community Through Connection
Beyond consultation, the center emphasizes interaction among young people.
The shared kitchen and mini-workation areas are designed to encourage natural conversations and relationship-building.
By supporting both housing stability and social connection, the center lays a foundation for young people to settle and envision their future within the community.
A Starting Point for Youth Housing Stability
The opening of Ulsan’s first housing-specific youth support center brings high expectations for meaningful change.
It represents a new starting point where young people can seek stability, receive guidance, and imagine their future while remaining rooted in their local community.
