Review of the 2025 Seongyeon-myeon Resident Autonomy Program Presentation & Farmers' Market

Seosan City SNS Supporter, Go Eun-young, brings us a review of the 2025 Seongyeon-myeon Resident Autonomy Program Presentation & Farmers' Market!
Let's take a look! 😉
This review is based on the writing of Go Eun-young, Seosan City SNS Supporter (11th term).
I visited the 2025 Seongyeon-myeon Resident Autonomy Program Presentation and Farmers' Market held at the Seongyeon-myeon Multipurpose Event Hall.
In the autumn-filled event venue, I was able to see performances prepared by the residents themselves and a market where they could meet carefully cultivated agricultural products, making it a truly bountiful day.
Now, I'll share a detailed review!
Farmers' Market
I was able to purchase agricultural products and processed goods carefully cultivated by local farmers at reasonable prices.
Rice, cabbage, sweet potatoes, grapes, kimchi seasoning, fermented seafood, soybean paste, soy sauce, traditional sauces, and Korean sweets!
The variety of items was really diverse, making it fun to look around. ☺️
There was even cotton candy and popcorn, perfect for satisfying a quick craving!
Exhibition with Plenty to See
On one side of the event hall, an exhibition of residents' works was also held.
The photo exhibition, 'My Youngest Today,' was full of happy photos that made me smile just by looking at them. ♥️
The quality of the works by the students of the resident autonomy program, such as watercolors and calligraphy, was really high, and I could feel the potential of local art.
The Seongyeon Youth Culture Center was promoting education about Garorim Bay and the designation of a marine ecological park, and there was a lot of useful information, which was impressive.
Experience Booths
There were various experiences that both children and adults would enjoy!
There was a traditional kite-flying booth where you could make and fly your own kite. The wind was good, making it a great day for kite-flying.
Making colorful Mobangjin pot coasters
Making Tillandsia Terrariums
Eco-bag painting 🎨
The bag was sturdy, so I really wanted it. So cute, right?!
There was also a unique experience where you could weave rice straw to make an egg basket.
It was a bit difficult, but a resident kindly helped me, so I enjoyed completing it. ☺️
At the calligraphy experience, I was able to write various phrases on pretty frames!
Seongyeon-myeon Resident Autonomy Program Presentation
The event began with a Pungmul performance, followed by full-fledged performances.
Many residents were present, creating a lively atmosphere.
Acoustic guitar performances with autumn-scented selections,
Gogo Janggu that raised the excitement,
Line dance, Nanta performance, etc.
Various programs prepared directly by the residents of Seongyeon-myeon continued.
In each performance, I could feel the sweat and passion that the participants had put into practicing!
The Seongyeon-myeon Resident Autonomy Presentation, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, was an event that perfectly fit the saying "A festival where residents are the main characters."
A stage prepared and participated in directly by the residents, a farmers' market with carefully cultivated agricultural specialties, and various experience booths!
It was a warm event filled with local affection, vitality, and the pride of the residents.
I definitely want to visit again next year! 😉
