The nightscape exhibition Red Snow is being held at Ganjeolgot, the first place in Korea to welcome the sunrise.
This winter public art exhibition blends red light, white snow, and coastal scenery to express the meaning of new beginnings at the turn of the year.
With free admission and both outdoor and indoor installations, Red Snow offers a warm and emotional cultural experience throughout the winter season.
A Winter Nightscape Exhibition at Korea’s Sunrise Landmark
Hello, this is Byun Jin-seok from the Ulsan Nuri Blog Reporter Team.
As the New Year of 2025 begins, I would like to introduce a special winter exhibition taking place at Ganjeolgot.
Known as the easternmost point of the Korean Peninsula, Ganjeolgot holds strong geographical and symbolic meaning.
This winter, it becomes the stage for a public art exhibition that transforms the familiar landscape into something entirely new after sunset.
Exhibition Information and Visitor Details
Red Snow is held at Ganjeolgot Park in Daesong-ri, Seosang-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan.
The exhibition runs from December 15, 2025, to February 20, 2026, and can be enjoyed daily from 16:30 until 08:00 the next morning.
Parking is available on-site, and admission is free for visitors of all ages.
This makes it an easy and welcoming winter outing for families, couples, and solo travelers.
The Meaning Behind the Nightscape Exhibition Red Snow
Red Snow literally refers to snow colored by red light.
The exhibition reinterprets the moment when the first dawn spreads across Ganjeolgot, translating it into a nighttime public art experience.
White snow and warm red light coexist across the landscape, symbolizing the quiet warmth that emerges even in the coldest season.
The central theme of the exhibition is new beginnings, expressed through light, space, and stillness.
Day and Night, Two Faces of the Same Landscape
During the day, the exhibition area resembles a calm field of freshly fallen snow.
At night, red illumination gently fills the space, completely transforming the atmosphere.
The changing light highlights the coastal curves of Ganjeolgot, creating an emotional environment where time and nature intersect.
This transition between day and night naturally reflects the passing of one year into the next.
Indoor Exhibition Space Welcoming an Early Spring
In addition to the outdoor installations, a warm indoor exhibition space has been prepared.
Inside, green grass and spring flowers create a sense of anticipation for the coming season.
Families visiting together were seen enjoying the space, with children especially engaged by the media art installations.
The artworks stimulate creativity for younger visitors while offering inspiration and quiet reflection for adults.
A Gentle Start to the New Year at Ganjeolgot
Red Snow is not simply an image of falling snow.
It serves as a metaphor for welcoming change, beginning again, and rising with quiet strength.
As you greet the New Year of 2026 at Ganjeolgot, strolling through red-lit snow may become a meaningful moment of reflection.
In the cold winter air, this exhibition offers a warm reminder that hope continues to bloom.
