Isn't autumn the perfect season for camping?
Gyeongsangbuk-do has many great campgrounds.
Today, I'd like to introduce Gyeongju Firefly Camping Ground, which was selected as an excellent family-friendly campground in Gyeongsangbuk-do for 2025.
Gyeongju Firefly Camping Ground is located in Sannae-myeon, slightly outside of Gyeongju city.
Thanks to its location, we avoided traffic and enjoyed the lush green mountains on the way.
The road to the campground is wide and well-maintained, making it easily accessible for sedans, RVs, and caravans.

As expected of an excellent family-friendly campground in Gyeongbuk, it has a swimming pool and plenty of activities for children.
Most sites seem suitable for tents, but for RVs and caravans, it's best to choose a spot in Zone S, which is directly connected to the entrance.
The roads to the other sites are also good enough for regular sedans, and the sites are spacious enough for large tents.
Also, the trees are quite large, providing ample shade from the sun.
Check-in time is 2:00 PM, and check-out time is 1:00 PM.
When camping with children, it's often difficult to check out early, but Gyeongju Firefly Camping Ground offers a generous check-out time.
Upon arrival, you need to visit the management office for check-in, where you'll receive a garbage bag and be informed of important information.
The management office also serves as a store, where you can purchase snacks, firewood, alcohol, and other essential camping supplies.
Various events, such as Halloween parties, are also held here.
This year, a homemade liquor and candy-sharing event was held for families during Halloween, and treasure hunts are occasionally held on weekends.
After visiting Gyeongju Firefly Camping Ground, I understood why it was selected as an excellent family-friendly campground in Gyeongbuk.
Gyeongju Firefly Camping Ground has a lot of activities for children.
There are two trampolines, separated for different age groups, which is a great feature.
There's also a zipline, which even 6-year-olds can enjoy safely with the help of a guardian.
A small mini-climbing area is also available, which is a popular playground for children.
Children can get closer to nature by touching the soil, climbing trees, and running around.
Although it's not open in the fall, there's a large swimming pool and a stream right in front, making it a popular campground in Gyeongbuk during the summer.
The campground also has well-equipped facilities such as sinks, refrigerators, and microwaves. The hot water in the sinks is also great for dishwashing.
The shower rooms are located right next to the sinks and are suitable for showering with children.
If you want to go camping but don't have camping equipment, consider renting a bungalow.
I visited Gyeongju Firefly Camping Ground, which was selected as an excellent family-friendly campground in Gyeongsangbuk-do.
After visiting with my child, I understood why it was selected.
It's a place where you can create memories with your children in the nature of Gyeongbuk, so I recommend visiting before autumn ends!
