Free Online Counseling Service for Young People in Gyeonggi Province

[Reporter: Na Ye-ji]
This free online counseling service is aimed at young people aged 19 to 39 living in Gyeonggi Province.
As we prepare for employment or navigate social life, it's common to feel mentally exhausted and overwhelmed for no particular reason.
Many of us want to share our feelings with someone, but often hesitate due to concerns about cost or time when it comes to seeking counseling.
While grappling with similar concerns, I discovered the 'Gyeonggi Youth Counseling Center' run by the Gyeonggi Province and decided to try it out.
What is the 'Gyeonggi Youth Counseling Center'?
The Gyeonggi Youth Counseling Center offers psychological counseling services to young people residing in Gyeonggi Province.
It provides one-on-one mental coaching on career paths, employment, relationships, and mental health.
One of its key features is the high accessibility, allowing users to apply online and receive counseling remotely.
It's particularly impressive that you don't have to set aside time to visit a counseling center; you can receive counseling comfortably anytime and anywhere.
This structure makes it relatively easy for those who may have felt a vague burden about counseling to get started.
This year, the service will operate from March 6 to November 31.
✔️ Operating Period: March 6, 2026 - November 31, 2026
✔️ Target Audience: Young people aged 19 to 39 in Gyeonggi Province
✔️ How to Use: Free online counseling through posting
✔️ Counseling Areas: Career, employment, relationships, workplace issues, romance, mental health, etc.
✔️ Response Period: Within 7 days after submitting the counseling request
Using the Gyeonggi Youth Counseling Center was simpler than I expected.
After signing up and logging into the Gyeonggi Youth Portal, I filled out my basic information and briefly wrote about the issues I wanted to discuss.
Once I completed the questionnaire and noted my concerns, the application was finished.
It's very straightforward, right?
Even during sleepless nights or while on the go, I was able to register easily.
Through the questionnaire, I wrote down one main concern and another minor issue, along with my current emotional state.
Initially, I was quite anxious about applying for counseling. With many worries swirling in my mind, I found it difficult to organize my thoughts.
After much deliberation on where to start, I recalled my previous experience with mental health consultations, where I simply shared my thoughts as they came to me.
Focusing on the concerns I had been feeling lately, I wrote them down.
I worried whether it was okay to write vaguely, but simply noting my current state was sufficient.
Even though I felt pressured to write a coherent piece, I just let my thoughts flow freely as if shouting into an empty bamboo grove.
After submitting my counseling request, it was uploaded to the counseling board, and I received a response within 7 days.
At first, I wondered if written counseling would be helpful, but after submitting my concerns, I found the responses to be very specific and well-organized, providing me with great comfort.
The counselor who responded to me went beyond mere empathy; they highlighted the core of what I wrote and offered insights on how to view my current situation.
What impressed me the most was their careful acknowledgment of the emotions I expressed in my writing.
They addressed my emotional burdens and the situations I was struggling with, even pointing out aspects I hadn't recognized, making me feel reassured that "it's natural to feel this way."
Reading their response brought me peace.
Since the counseling was provided in written form, I found it advantageous to revisit the responses, allowing me to organize my thoughts over time.
Being able to look back at the responses whenever needed was even more beneficial.
In the 'My Information' section, I could view all my submitted counseling posts, and after receiving responses, I often revisited them for comfort.
The Gyeonggi Youth Counseling Center is a meaningful system that lowers the barriers to accessing counseling.
Starting online without financial concerns was definitely a plus.
Previously, I thought counseling was only for significant issues, but this experience taught me that everyday concerns can also be shared.
After using the service, I realized that counseling isn't just needed in special situations; it can be a helpful process for anyone.
If you're feeling a bit drained or spending too much time alone with your worries, trying this service without pressure might be a good choice.
It was a meaningful experience that helped clarify my thoughts and lighten my heart.
