When traveling from Busan to Ulsan, the Donghae Line is a convenient option.

Arriving at Ulsan's <태화강역>, you can easily access various parts of the city.

In front of the station, you'll find the colorful , which is beautifully decorated.

A large banner announcing the confirmation of the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo is displayed prominently at the information center.

For an efficient way to explore Ulsan, the city tour and tourist taxi options are recommended.

The Ulsan city tour offers a circular route (including the Taehwagang National Garden and Jangsaengpo Daewangam course) and themed courses (such as healing, time travel, beautiful moonlight, and world heritage tours).

The themed tours require reservations, and if the number of participants is fewer than 10 by Wednesday noon before the tour, it will be canceled.

The cost is 10,000 won for adults and 8,000 won for children and teenagers. Tours are guided by cultural interpreters and follow a set schedule.

The circular route costs 6,000 won for adults and 4,000 won for children, with the first bus leaving Taehwagang Station at 9:30 AM and the last at 4 PM. You can hop on and off freely according to your schedule.

Two trolley buses and two whale-wrapped buses operate this route, and the Jangsaengpo Daewangam course is accessible for wheelchairs (two available).

The Ulsan tourist taxi service is available for 2 to 8 hours, with options for standard cars and 12-passenger vans. Prices start at 20,000 won for a standard car for 2 hours and 40,000 won for a 12-passenger van.

Reservations must be made at least three days in advance, and this service is exclusively for tourists, not Ulsan residents.

Tour options include prehistoric and traditional travel, wellness and well-being tours, nature and art tours, deep blue sea journeys, independence history tours, and free tours. Subsidies are available for visiting two of Ulsan's 12 scenic spots during the free tour.

The Ulsan Comprehensive Tourist Information Center offers services in English, Japanese, and Chinese, in addition to Korean. It operates from 9 AM to 6 PM daily, with a 1330 tourist information hotline available from 7 AM to midnight.

Additionally, the center provides free brochures about Ulsan's bicycle paths and tourist guides.

Ulsan is also known as a hydrogen city, where hydrogen is used as a primary energy source. The city has established a hydrogen ecosystem for production, storage, transportation, and utilization, aiming to create a clean and healthy urban environment.

The hydrogen city project began in 2020 and will continue with additional initiatives until 2028.

The Ulsan Chemical Complex has a 188 km underground pipeline connecting by-product hydrogen to the city center.

Ulsan was the first city in South Korea to establish a hydrogen charging station for vehicles in 2009 and installed the nation's first hydrogen ship charging station in 2021.

Innovative projects are underway, including a hydrogen pipeline network for direct supply to hydrogen charging stations and the development of the country's first hydrogen tractor.

In the residential sector, a hydrogen city project is being implemented, with a completion ceremony held for an apartment complex in 2024, providing hot water and heating for 437 public rental housing units.

In transportation, the world's first commercial hydrogen tram project is also in progress.

Ulsan's eco-friendly hydrogen buses generate electricity through the reaction of hydrogen and oxygen, producing no exhaust gases and offering advantages in driving distance and charging speed compared to electric buses. Hydrogen buses currently operate on city bus routes.

If you arrive in Ulsan without prior research, head straight to the Ulsan Comprehensive Tourist Information Center at Taehwagang Station for all the information you need for a fulfilling trip.
