Exploring the Upgraded Sunbawi Library in Uljin
The Sunbawi Library in Uljin is a multifaceted cultural space where residents can enjoy learning, culture, and relaxation.
Equipped with excellent facilities, it attracts many visitors on both weekdays and weekends. The library has recently been upgraded with eco-friendly features.
Currently, some facility improvements are underway, which may cause slight inconveniences for visitors. However, there are no major issues with using the library, so please keep that in mind.
The library consists of a basement parking area, a first-floor children's reading room, a second-floor audiovisual room, a club room, a webtoon creation experience center, and a third-floor comprehensive reading room, digital resource room, and lounge.
When I visited, access to the first floor was restricted due to ongoing construction. Visitors must take the elevator directly to the second or third floor.

By 2025, the interior landscaping of the Sunbawi Library has transformed. The space now features a blend of desks, chairs, and greenery, creating a pleasant atmosphere that complements the books.
What used to be a space filled solely with books now feels more relaxed and inviting. Even though we are still selecting and reading the same books, the experience feels different. The green spaces provide comfort, making it a fitting enhancement for the library.
Next to the bookshelves, individual desks and chairs are set up, indicating that many visitors are dedicated to self-improvement.
There are also massage chairs available, and the library offers various relaxation facilities. Having explored the indoor amenities, let me introduce you to the outdoor space within the library.
On the second floor, an outdoor area has been created. With artificial grass laid out, visitors can enjoy the sunshine and breeze.
This area evokes the atmosphere of the beautiful Baegundae Mountain. A pergola has been installed, allowing for discussions and work in a comfortable shaded environment.
With colorful desks and chairs arranged on the artificial grass, it resembles a charming outdoor book café.
The transformation of the library is truly remarkable! It has evolved beyond a mere space for research and study into a complex cultural venue.
