Exploring the Unique Ulsan Tourist Information Center
울산광역시 중구 문화의거리 28
울산큰애기하우스

When traveling, you are bound to encounter at least one tourist information center in any city.
The tourist information center in Jung-gu, Ulsan, caught my attention, and I decided to drop by without much expectation.
However, this place had a different atmosphere than the typical tourist information centers.
Beyond simply providing information, the space itself felt like an attraction.
This place is better described as a cultural complex rather than just a tourist information center.
The character 'Ulsan Kkeun Aegi' is central to the design of the space.
From character merchandise to charming exhibition areas, there is much to explore.
On the third floor, there is even a self-photo studio, offering more entertainment than I initially anticipated.
Ulsan Kkeun Aegi is a girl character dressed in red.
She has won an award at the 2nd Korea Local and Public Character Contest hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Created by the Jung-gu office in 2016, she has become well-known among citizens.
Now, she has established herself as a symbolic character representing Ulsan beyond Jung-gu.
This center is also a place where you can meet Ulsan Kkeun Aegi up close.
As soon as you enter the first floor, various merchandise catches your eye.
In particular, the Ulsan Kkeun Aegi dolls displayed in different sizes are quite attention-grabbing.
They are so cute that you may want to take one home as a souvenir.
In addition to dolls, there are small items like magnets, stamps, and round mirrors available.
For those who love the character, the selection is naturally appealing.
There are many affordable items that make great travel souvenirs.
Just browsing through them brings a little joy.
You can head up to the second floor via the stairs.
On the second floor, there is a room designed to look like Ulsan Kkeun Aegi's actual living space.
True to her love for red dresses, the entire area is decorated in pink tones.
It feels like stepping into a scene from a fairy tale.
A bed adorned with lace also stands out.
Ulsan Kkeun Aegi is depicted lying on this large bed, radiating energy.
It feels like a perfect spot to take a moment to recharge.
The pink and red colors instantly signal that this space belongs to Ulsan Kkeun Aegi.
The cheerful character greets visitors with a bright smile.
Next to her is a cozy-looking pink sofa, reinforcing the concept of the space.
At Ulsan Kkeun Aegi's desk, you can catch a glimpse of her journey.
There is also a display of her appointment certificate on the wall.
This illustrates her important role in tourism beyond Jung-gu, Ulsan.
In one area, there was a mug-making experience available.
The cost for this activity is 5,000 won, which is quite reasonable.
You can color your own character and create a personalized mug.
Just be mindful that the design will be printed in reverse.
Ascending to the third floor, the atmosphere changes once again.
This floor features a self-photo studio named 'Eighteen Youth Photo Studio.'
You can take photos with a concept that feels like stepping back into the modern era of a century ago.
As a self-photo studio, you can freely take pictures.
Information on usage fees is neatly organized in one corner.
The basic usage time for the studio is one hour and is provided free of charge.
For an additional hour, a fee of 5,000 won applies.
Costume rentals are also available.
The basic rental is 10,000 won for two hours.
You can rent up to two outfits and choose up to three accessories.
If you extend the rental time by one hour, an additional 5,000 won is added.
I also explored the space where the costumes are stored.
Various outfits that fit the modern concept were prepared.
It seems like it would be quite fun to get into character and take photos here.
The self-photo studio allows for a relaxed shooting experience without feeling self-conscious.
This space is also a place to learn about Ulsan.
At the same time, you can naturally encounter the character Ulsan Kkeun Aegi.
The experience of taking photos while traveling back in time adds to the fun.
With so many elements to enjoy at once, the overall satisfaction seems high.
The Ulsan Kkeun Aegi House operates daily from 10 AM to 7 PM.
It’s convenient that there are no regular holidays, allowing for visits at any time.
This is a great place to take a break while exploring Jung-gu, Ulsan.
If you're passing by, I recommend stopping by the Ulsan Kkeun Aegi Cultural Complex Tourist Information Center.
