Exploring the Scenic Night View of Ulsan's Hamwolru

I recently visited Hamwolru, a renowned night view spot in Ulsan.
Located at 7 Hamwol 1-gil, Jung-gu, Ulsan, Hamwolru translates to "Pavilion Embracing the Moon" and is situated on Hamwol Mountain, known for its historical association with lunar energy.
The pavilion was crafted by the important intangible cultural asset, Master Choi Gi-young, and the signboard was created by the esteemed calligrapher Songcheon Jeong Ha-geon, ensuring the highest quality in its completion.
After a long time, I wanted to take a walk and enjoy Ulsan's night view, so I headed to Hamwolru.
The parking lot is well-equipped, including electric vehicle charging stations. Most importantly, the streetlights illuminate the path brightly, making it safe for a stroll, even on the mountain trails.
After parking, it takes about 10 minutes to walk up to Hamwolru.
As you follow the walking path, you will reach Hamwolru, which connects to another route used for hiking and walking.
The paths are well-maintained, and the bright streetlights allow for a safe walking experience.
Hamwolru, just a short walk away, features beautiful lighting and a lovely courtyard.
While the beauty of Hamwolru itself is striking, it also offers stunning views of the Ulsan Bridge and the cityscape. On clear days, you can even see the lights of the Onsan Industrial Complex in the distance, making it a popular destination for many locals.
Hamwolru is one of the top nine scenic spots in Jung-gu, Ulsan, and offers a wishing map experience along with a stamp tour.
Moreover, there are many delicious restaurants and charming cafes nearby, making it an excellent idea to enjoy dinner and the night view in one visit.
Located in Seong-an-dong, Jung-gu, Hamwolru is surrounded by various attractions, showcasing Ulsan as a city full of romantic sights.
The pavilion and its courtyard are beautifully designed, featuring a spacious lawn and lovely landscaping. While it would be lovely to visit during the day, Hamwolru is even more stunning at night when the lights are on.
In the evening, many locals visit for a walk and to enjoy the night view.
Hamwolru, the "Pavilion Embracing the Moon," overlooks the Taehwa River and is nestled against Hamwol Mountain, known as the "Mountain Holding the Moon" and home to the historic Baekyangsa Temple, making it a picturesque area for photography and night views.
Upon arrival, you can change into indoor shoes after taking off your outdoor shoes before ascending the pavilion. As there are stairs, I recommend caution for children and the elderly.
The first thing that catches your eye is the beautiful night view of Ulsan.
On the left, you can see the Ulsan Bridge, and on the right, the neighborhoods of Seongnam-dong and Mugeodong, along with the distant lights of the Onsan Industrial Complex.
Viewing the expansive nightscape brings a refreshing sense of relief.
While the views are gorgeous, the Hamwolru pavilion itself is also stunning, showcasing traditional architecture with beautiful colors.
During my visit last autumn, I noticed citizens reading books and listening to music in the pavilion, making it a popular relaxation spot for Ulsan residents.
If you're looking for a quiet and serene night view destination, I highly recommend visiting Hamwolru in Seong-an-dong, Ulsan.
With many charming cafes nearby, consider planning a stroll followed by a delightful time at one of these cafes.
