A new attraction has opened in Iksan, dedicated to honoring the renowned author Yoon Heung-gil, who has deep ties to the region. This is the 'Literary House of Sora Dan.' For this reason, Yoon has chosen Iksan as a primary backdrop for his literary works, deeply exploring the pains of modern Korean history and human dignity. His serial novel 'Sora Dan Ganeun Gil' has been praised for extending the memories of Iksan's places and people into universal emotions in Korean literature. Following him, Kim Hyung-soo, director of the Shin Dong-yeop Literary Museum, spoke on 'Yoon Heung-gil's Status in Korean Fiction,' while Shin Gwi-baek, director of the Iksan Modern Culture Research Institute, discussed 'The Locality of Iksan Literature.' Professor Jang Mi-young from Jeonju University presented on 'The Fragrance of Iksan Dialect in the Pine Wind,' capturing the audience's interest.

Although born in Jeongeup, Yoon moved to Iksan during his childhood, attending elementary and middle school there. After graduating from Jeonju National University of Education, he worked as a teacher at Chunpo Elementary School in Iksan. He later studied literature at Wonkwang University, revealing that Iksan is indeed the literary soil of the author.
The 'Sora Dan' mentioned in Yoon's serial novel refers to Sora Mountain, where the Literary House is located. Originally known for its abundant pine trees, it was called 'Solbat-an' (Pine Field), which evolved phonetically into 'Sora Dan.' Understanding the origin of the name clarifies why the Literary House of Yoon Heung-gil is naturally situated here.
The exhibition also features Yoon's modest writing desk, where an old typewriter sits prominently. Despite having a typewriter, the author preferred to write directly on paper, making the typewriter merely a relic of the past.

For bookmarks, visitors can choose from prepared options or write their own messages on blank bookmarks provided by the Literary House.
Following the opening, a guest lecture was held featuring Lee Seung-heon, a distinguished professor of physics at the University of Virginia, who spoke on 'Us in the Universe: The Light and Darkness of Science.' Attendees included local high school students and many interested in the Literary House, emphasizing its role as a meeting point for literary figures and citizens alike.
The Literary House is located within the Iksan Sora Neighborhood Park, providing a spacious garden atmosphere around it. It is an ideal facility set in a beautiful environment, making it a pleasant stop during a park visit.
Within the park, various facilities are well-maintained. The area surrounding the Literary House features a play forest, including a children's playground and a local humanities forest.
