Haman may not be widely known, but it is, in fact, a city of cherry blossoms.
You can encounter an abundance of cherry blossoms along the main roads, walking paths, and throughout the town.
Today, I would like to introduce the Gwangnyeocheon Cherry Blossom Path, which you can enjoy along the riverside.
Gwangnyeocheon is a waterway that connects Chilwon and Chilseo in Haman to the Nakdong River.
It stretches approximately 26.3 km and is famous for its pleasant walking and cycling paths.
If you want to experience the cherry blossoms, you can head to the Jai or Blooming Apartments.
It's about a 10-minute drive from Haman IC, making it easily accessible with a well-developed commercial area.
Nearby, you will find Hoam Elementary School and Hoam Middle School, which may help you find your way.
From late March to early April, the walking path along Gwangnyeocheon transforms into a spring wonderland.
Most of the cherry trees are planted along this long stretch of the waterway.
As of April 2, the cherry blossoms are blooming beautifully.
With new buds sprouting in the middle of the tree trunks, it seems likely that they will become even more abundant in the coming years.
Although they are already stunning now, I believe this location will continue to be a highlight for cherry blossoms in Gyeongnam.
Gwangnyeocheon features a dedicated cycling path.
On the day I visited, I saw many people enjoying rides along the path.
The bicycle path extends to Ace Apartments in Chilseo.
With no steep inclines, it is a low-difficulty path suitable for families with children.
Visiting during the cherry blossom season would make it even more romantic.
There are resting spots installed throughout the area, allowing for ample breaks, and the separation of pedestrian and bicycle paths ensures safety.
As you can see in the photos, the cherry blossoms bloom vibrantly, making it a picturesque cycling route.
I walked along the path toward the apartments from the industrial complex.
Following a person walking, I discovered an unexpected view after crossing a bridge.
Green grass, pink cherry blossoms, and a gently flowing stream create a beautiful scene that feels open and inviting.
Standing on the stepping stones, I wondered what it would feel like, and as I moved, the fish darted away in surprise.
There are many fish living here, which was quite touching.
Gwangnyeocheon has a slightly reminiscent feel of Busan's Oncheoncheon.
However, it is certainly wider, with many areas to relax.
Enjoy your visit to Gwangnyeocheon!
