Exploring the 2025 Ulsan Cultural Expo with Kids

The 2025 Ulsan Cultural Expo brought together culture, content, and people in one massive festival-like space, making it an ideal family outing.
With hundreds of booths, interactive technology, performances, and local creators, the expo offered meaningful experiences for both children and adults.
This visit became more than a quick stop, turning into a full day of discovery shared with kids.
A Festival-Scale Cultural Expo in Ulsan
From December 4 to 7, the largest-ever Ulsan Cultural Expo was held at the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center.
With more than 440 booths across multiple themed halls, the venue felt lively and immersive from the moment we arrived.
Easy Entry and Diverse Exhibition Zones
Although I pre-registered in advance, on-site registration was also available, allowing many visitors to join freely.
The expo was divided into the Youth Culture Hall, Cultural Content Hall, Cultural Products Hall, and a Special Exhibition Hall, making it easy to explore by interest.
The Delicious Bread Zone That Stopped Us First
Before even entering the main exhibition space, the Delicious Bread area immediately caught our attention.
Young bakers showcased giant castella cakes, bagels, and salt bread, with tasting samples that naturally led to purchases.
Meeting Ulsan’s Cultural City Characters
Inside the venue, we were greeted by Ulsan’s whale characters Haemong, Sand, and Goyo, which immediately drew the kids’ attention.
An AI-based kiosk allowed visitors to create photo cards and try simple counseling content, resulting in long lines filled with curious adults and excited children.
Game Festa and Interactive Content
Near the stage, a Game Festa was underway with live broadcasts that attracted large crowds.
Interactive zones allowed both kids and adults to learn about current game and digital content trends in an engaging way.
Discovering Local Creations and AI Experiences
The Cultural Products Hall featured unique items from local workshops, and my child and I even picked up a few pieces we liked.
One standout booth instantly transformed our family photo into a printed sticker using AI, creating an unforgettable moment.
Throughout the expo, AI-related content appeared in many forms, making advanced technology feel accessible and fun.
Books, Art, and Quiet Moments
While walking through the halls, I noticed that the Potato Bookstore from Seong-an-dong was participating.
The kids enjoyed drawing at the booth while I browsed picture books, already planning a future visit to the physical bookstore.
Stage Performances That Captivated Children
Music led us toward the main stage, where the musical Bubblelandia was being performed against a Sled-themed backdrop.
The children watched with bright, focused eyes, fully immersed in the performance.
Following the musical, a character event introduced Ulsan’s Haemong and Sand alongside characters from Busan and Gyeongnam, presented in a way children could easily remember.
A Day That Passed Too Quickly
The expo offered both free and paid experiences, with paid options providing substantial value and easy choices for kids.
What I expected to be a short visit turned into a full day as time flew by while exploring.
Sharing this experience with my children made the day even more meaningful, and I am already looking forward to the next Ulsan Cultural Expo.
