Sabang Memorial Park has gained popularity
as a filming location for the drama "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,"
drawing many visitors to Pohang.
Even if you haven't watched the drama,
the scenery is so beautiful that it's perfect for a leisurely stroll.
Although the drama aired some time ago,
the park still retains its warm and romantic atmosphere,
making it a delightful place to visit at any time.
In fact, this place is not just a filming site;
it holds a story of transforming barren land into a lush forest.
The park was created to honor the history of the Sabang Project,
which involved planting trees on desolate mountains and nurturing them
to create the green forests we see today.

you need to hike up to Mukeunbong,
the highest point in the park.
The path is a bit steep,
but there are both a quick staircase and a gentle slope

Starting from the parking lot,
it takes about 30 minutes to walk one way,
and it's not too difficult,
making it a popular spot for many visitors.
As you near the top of Mukeunbong,
you are greeted by a viewpoint boasting a refreshing landscape.
The stunning sea view opens up,
and on clear days, you can see Homi Cape,
and even Ulleungdo and Dokdo in the distance!
There are benches at the viewpoint,
perfect for sitting quietly and enjoying the sound of the waves.
Just a few steps from the viewpoint,
you will finally see the boat of Hong Ban-jang on the hill.
While it may seem like an ordinary boat found at the beach,
its placement on the mountaintop with green grass and clear skies
creates a unique feeling.
Standing next to the boat and gazing at the horizon,
you might feel like the protagonist of a drama,
with a refreshing sense of freedom!
While I thought "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" was the only drama filmed here,
I recently learned that "Spring Fever" was also shot in this location!
