A great place for a light walk and exercise

Guyoung Prehistoric Park, Ulsan, Ulju-gun

Hello, I am Choi Jeong-won from the Ulsan Metropolitan City Blog Reporter Group.

Today, I would like to share my experience visiting Guyoung Prehistoric Park located in Guyoung-ri.

Guyoung Prehistoric Park features a unique barefoot walking trail and a resting area called Sanmara Observatory, where visitors can exercise and relax.

Additionally, the park offers various facilities such as a mountain craft workshop, a historical experience area, a bird observation village, and a fruit tree learning space.

The parking lot is well-equipped, and the gentle slopes make it easy to reach the summit without taking too much time. It seems like a great place for families to visit. You can even bring a packed lunch to enjoy on the deck!

Guyoung Prehistoric Park is a low hill, making it perfect for a family walk.

✅ Guyoung Prehistoric Park

Address: 753-4 Guyoung-ri, Beomseo-eup, Ulju-gun, Ulsan

Features: Parking available, gentle mountain ridges, barefoot walking trail, exercise equipment, wooden deck

✅ A location that perfectly matches a lovely day for walking

Although there is a parking lot, it may not be large enough, making parking a bit challenging. Fortunately, street parking is also possible.

On a nice day, I found it very pleasant to walk. Each tree had its name displayed, which added to the enjoyment. Even without climbing the mountain, it looked great for a simple walk. The area is quiet with very few cars.

As I approached the entrance, I checked how the walking paths were laid out. The main trail is straightforward, so no matter where you go, you can find your way back down.

There were also descriptions of the walking paths, emphasizing the health benefits of daily walking. I thought I should come back in the spring when the weather gets warmer!

The walking paths were well maintained, clean, and free of litter. I enjoyed listening to the chirping of birds as I walked up. It only takes about 30 minutes to reach the observatory from the starting point.

I chose the path to the rest area, which was described as having a gentler slope than the observatory. Though it felt like a bit of a detour, it was much more comfortable for a leisurely walk.

The path alternated between dirt and wooden trails, surrounded by lush grass that filled the air with a fresh scent. There were many flowers, creating a healing atmosphere.

I visited on a weekend morning, and the lack of people made it even more serene. It was a perfect time to reflect and unwind. Although I couldn't walk barefoot due to the cold in late November, I plan to try it when the weather warms up!

As I continued up, I reached a deck before the summit. This spot seemed perfect for enjoying a packed lunch.

The view was breathtaking, offering a sense of openness. I spent some time gazing at the scenery, imagining bringing a book to read here.

After a brief rest, I continued up to see another deck with an even more stunning view. There are plenty of resting spots, making it a good idea to take a break before reaching the observatory.

Finally, I arrived at the summit, Sanmara Observatory, which is famous for its beautiful sunsets. Standing at the top, you can enjoy unobstructed views towards the Sun Rock area, perfect for watching the sunset.

There was also a small pavilion nearby. It would be a nice place to sit and rest after exercising or enjoy some snacks. In the summer, it offers a shaded area to escape the sun.

The park is equipped with exercise equipment, making it ideal for light stretching and workouts.

Overall, the facilities were well-maintained and clean. The "Forest Gym" area allows visitors to enjoy the energy of the forest while exercising. A simple walk followed by a workout here would be wonderful.

In conclusion, I shared my experience of walking in Guyoung Prehistoric Park. Although it is a small hill, it offers various facilities and a great view of the Sun Rock area, making it a satisfying visit. The park also has exercise facilities, making it a great place for a workout!

Thank you for reading.
