Exploring Gimhae: Culinary Delights and Scenic Spots_02

Welcome to the third part of my Gimhae travel series!

Here, I'll share my experiences at some great restaurants and nearby attractions.

Gimhae Restaurants

ℹ️ Quick Info

- There is no dedicated parking, but street parking is available.

- Reservations are highly recommended.

On the first day of our arrival in Gimhae, we checked in at 3 PM and relaxed before heading out for dinner. We made a reservation for 5:30 PM.

It’s about a 10-minute drive from Lotte Resort Gimhae.

We had heard great things about the back meat dish, so we made a reservation at a nearby restaurant. (We have a big family, after all!)

How does it feel?

The restaurant's exterior already exudes a vibe of a great dining spot!

The back meat was incredibly tender and delicious. I had no idea it could taste this good.

And the prices were very reasonable: 8,000 won for pork belly and 7,000 won for back meat.

We definitely ate at least two servings each.

All the dishes were delicious, especially the cold buckwheat noodles and fried rice! ✌️ No matter how full you are, fried rice is a must after a meat feast.

Our little one, who couldn’t nap, fell asleep during dinner, so we took some pork belly back to the resort for him. He devoured it like a vacuum cleaner! I was so proud!

ℹ️ Quick Info

- There is a spacious parking lot behind the restaurant.

- No reservations are accepted; it's strictly first-come, first-served.

- Be sure to try the snail and perilla seed soup!

For breakfast, we enjoyed a buffet at Gaya and then headed out for an early dinner around 5 PM. However, we knew the adults in our group dislike waiting.

So, my husband and I left 10 minutes earlier, but wow… the wait was no joke on the weekend!

It felt like every place around was a popular restaurant, but only this one was bustling with people.

In the end, everyone had to wait together to get in.

We tried the anchovy wrapped rice, which I had never heard of before. I was curious if it would be good, but the side dishes were all delicious!

My mother-in-law was completely satisfied!

The anchovies were larger than I expected, plump, and boneless! Plus, there was no fishy taste. They were warm and not spicy at all.

We mixed our rice in the pot towards the end, and that was even tastier.

And then there was the snail and perilla seed soup! Wow, this was a highlight!

It was genuinely delicious, and even our 30-month-old loved it, finishing a bowl of rice!

Make sure to order this! Honestly, it's even better than the anchovy wrapped rice.

ℹ️ Quick Info

- There’s a large parking lot next to the café.

- This is a popular spot near the Nakdong River Rail Bike.

Korean-style Shabu Shabu

It was so clean and a perfect way to wrap up our Gimhae trip. This dish is something you can find anywhere, but the meat was tender, and the broth was clean, with mushrooms that adults love. Just perfect!

This place is definitely recognized as a great spot near the Nakdong River Rail Bike!

After our meal, if you go to the café, they give you a 10% discount.

But the café also has a wonderful atmosphere, and the coffee is genuinely delicious!

Places to Visit

There are so many places to check out in Gimhae, but before heading back to Seoul on our last day, we stopped by the Nakdong River Rail Bike!

Since our little one loves cars, we thought the rail bike would be fun, and it was indeed great!

After parking, we walked along the path.

We visited both the rail bike and the wine cave.

Dogs are not allowed, so we left ours at the ticket booth (there’s a carrier available for convenience).

Walking through the train café to the wine cave was a lovely experience!

I expected a complimentary glass of wine, but that wasn’t the case. The cave had so many photo spots, making it a perfect place for pictures!

At the end of the path, there was an event where you could write a message and hang it like a keychain at Namsan Tower.

Since the rail bike has a set riding time, I recommend visiting the wine cave if you have time!

By the time we finished exploring, it was just the right time to ride the rail bike.

The path was so beautiful!

Plus, the rail bike is automated now. I thought I had to pedal hard, but it just goes with the push of a button!

It was a bit chilly, but it was still enjoyable.

Riding the rail bike gave us a nice view of the Nakdong River, creating wonderful memories.

It was hard to take pretty pictures, but we made some great memories.

Since our little one is only 30 months old, we used a baby carrier for the ride. It’s mandatory, but they offer rentals if you don’t have one.
