Eunpyeong Hanok Village, located in Jingwan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, is a modern hanok village offering picturesque views of Bukhansan Mountain. It's a serene escape within the city.
You'll be surprised to find such natural beauty within Seoul. The charming alleys and the warmth of everyday life create a healing atmosphere simply by walking around.
At the tail end of summer, crape myrtle and trumpet creeper blossoms still add vibrancy to the alleys, creating photo opportunities against the traditional walls.
The village is well-planned, offering picture-perfect compositions from every angle. With Bukhansan Mountain as a backdrop, it feels even more special.
The beautiful weather enhanced the view, with the eaves of the hanoks seeming to touch the clear autumn sky.
Unlike typical one-story hanoks, many here have two stories, adding to their elegance. Besides residential homes, you'll find cafes, art galleries, and event spaces, making exploration even more enjoyable.
Eunpyeong Hanok Village isn't very large, making it perfect for a quick stroll, followed by a relaxing break at a cafe or restaurant.
I had hoped to visit Jingwansa Temple, located near Eunpyeong Hanok Village, but time didn't allow. I'll be sure to go next time.
Thanks to K-culture's popularity, I saw many foreigners dressed in beautiful hanboks, taking photos throughout the village.

While Starbucks is another popular spot for Bukhansan views, I decided to visit 1 In 1 Jan cafe, which is located close to the Hanok Village.
1 In 1 Jan is the cafe, while 1 In 1 Sang is the restaurant. Both share the same building.
The cafe, 1 In 1 Jan, occupies the 1st and 2nd floors, with a no-kids zone on the 3rd floor. The restaurant, 1 In 1 Sang, is located on the 4th and 5th floors, and a rooftop garden on the 6th floor.
Although it's a 5-story building, the cafe space itself isn't very large, so expect a wait during weekends.
I originally wanted to sit on the 2nd floor, but it was full. I settled for a spot on the 1st floor and went to explore the 6th-floor rooftop garden.
The view of the Hanok Village and Bukhansan Mountain from the top floor was truly breathtaking. I saw groups of foreigners in hanboks busily taking photos, and I understood in that moment how beautiful these traditional houses must look to them.
There are only about 4 tables on the rooftop garden. It was a bit too hot that day, so I plan to return in the fall.
I can only imagine how beautiful it will be when the Bukhansan foliage turns colors. I'm seriously considering visiting again soon!
The view from the 2nd-floor tables is also lovely, and I was hoping for a seat to open up, but it was a weekend, so I was grateful for the 1st-floor spot.
I also saw the 1 In 1 Sang restaurant on the 3rd floor as I was coming down. There are only a few tables, and people were waiting in line.
1 In 1 Jan offers roasting coffee using beans from Fritz Coffee Company. Their signature drinks are Einspänner, Brown Flat, and Almond Cream Latte. They also have a variety of non-coffee options, ades, and teas, along with traditional desserts like sweet red bean rice cakes, banana rice cakes, and tricolored dumplings – perfect with tea.
A small traditional tray is placed on top of the regular table, where you can enjoy your drinks and desserts.
Since it's a hanok village cafe, I ordered an Omija (magnolia berry) ade for a refreshing drink.
Eunpyeong Hanok Village offers a different atmosphere from Bukchon Hanok Village, with its Bukhansan views and elegantly constructed two-story hanoks.
Jingwansa Temple and Jingwansa Valley are nearby and worth a visit. 1 In 1 Jan cafe, with its artistic views of Bukhansan Mountain, certainly lives up to its reputation.
