Discovering Wawa Community House in Samho-dong, Ulsan

While passing through Samho-dong, Nam-gu, Ulsan, you can find the charming Wawa Community House, located across from Wawa Park.
This facility, completed in June 2021 as part of the Samho-dong urban regeneration project, spans three floors and aims to provide a space for local residents to communicate, engage in cultural activities, and build a foundation for community revitalization.
The surrounding area offers attractions such as the Migratory Bird Promotion Center and the Taehwa River National Garden promenade, providing plenty to see. Its location in a quiet neighborhood makes it easily accessible.
With ample parking and a welcoming atmosphere for all residents, it feels like a familiar and accessible welfare and cultural space.
It features an outdoor wooden deck for relaxation, a fitness center on the first floor, the Samho All Together Care Center, a resident health management room, dementia relief house, and an education room on the second floor, and the Migratory Bird Village Library and resident meeting room on the third floor, providing a range of convenient facilities.
For citizens who borrow books from the Migratory Bird Village Library inside, an outdoor book drop box is available for easy returns, which is convenient for use on days when the Wawa Community House is closed.
Upon entering the first floor, the fitness center immediately catches the eye. It's perfectly sized for local residents to enjoy a light workout, and the equipment is neatly organized, creating a positive first impression.
It's a great place to stop by for a quick workout before work or to break a sweat after work.
Indoor sneakers, a personal water bottle, and a towel are required for use. Registration is available at the Samho-dong Community Service Center for a quarterly fee of 60,000 KRW. It is open from 6 PM to 8 PM on weekdays.
On one side of the same floor is the 'Samho All Together Care Center,' designed to provide a comfortable space for children.
With indoor play areas, books, and well-organized teaching materials, parents can feel confident in entrusting their children here.
This space offers protection, education, and experience opportunities for local children, making it ideal for citizens in need of childcare.
It is available for children aged 6-12 (elementary school students), with priority given to lower grades, dual-income families, families with multiple children, and multicultural families.
It operates from 10 AM to 7 PM during the school year and from 9 AM to 7 PM during vacations (flexible operation) from Monday to Friday. You can register by visiting the center on the first floor of the Wawa Community House.
For inquiries, please call 052-225-3005.
Although there is an elevator, the stairs display the benefits of stair climbing, encouraging me to walk.
You can save energy and take care of your health by climbing the stairs.
On the second floor, you'll find the Resident Health Management Room, Education Room, and Dementia Relief House.
While it may be quiet on weekends due to weekday operations, it's usually a vibrant space where residents come and go for consultations or to participate in health programs.
The Health Management Room offers programs where you can assess your health through simple measurements and exercise guidance.
Participation is free, making it easy to stop by.
Next to it is the Education Room, a versatile space available for rent for local meetings, lectures, workshops, and more. Its bright and open structure makes it well-suited for programs involving multiple people.
The Dementia Relief House offers experiences with dementia-friendly residential environment facilities, 1-on-1 consulting, counseling for relief center services, and early check-ups. Please note that it is only available from 2 PM to 5 PM from Monday to Friday.
On the third floor, you'll first encounter the Resident Meeting Room, which is used as a multipurpose room and meeting room for various programs.
Across from the meeting room, in a sunny spot, you'll find the Migratory Bird Village Library, a small library that enhances the quality of life for residents.
Various classes, including reading culture programs, take place in the library, so please be aware that it may be noisy during operation.
It is closed on Mondays and public holidays, and you can use the drop box on the first floor to return books outside of business hours.
Books for everyone from children to adults are well-organized, and there are cozy seats for quiet study or reading.
The fact that it is open on weekends is a great advantage for residents.
If you are looking for a book, you can find its location through the search station, and computers are available for searching information, so it is good to utilize it as a space for personal learning and self-development.
I thought it was just a public facility, but as I looked around each floor, I realized it was a welfare space close to the daily lives of local residents.
With clean and carefully designed facilities that naturally fill various aspects of life, such as exercise, education, care, and reading, I recommend visiting if you live around Samho-dong.
