Visiting Hamann Library This Winter
As winter deepens, finding a warm indoor space becomes especially appealing.
Hamann Library provides a cozy environment where visitors can read, study, and relax throughout the colder months.
The library is located at 16 Seonwang-gil, Gaya-eup, Hamann-gun, Gyeongnam.
Free parking is available, making it convenient to visit by car.
Operating Hours and Accessibility
The General Materials Room and Children’s Room operate from Tuesday to Saturday between 9:00 and 18:00, and on Sundays from 9:00 to 17:00.
The Digital Materials Room is open Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 to 17:30.
The Study Room operates Monday from 9:00 to 18:00, and Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 to 22:00.
The library is closed every Monday.
Hamann Library first opened in 1990 and moved to its current building in 2023.
Today, it functions as a community information hub and a multicultural space open to everyone.
Smart Library Open 24 Hours
In front of the main building stands a smart library facility.
This space operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, allowing book borrowing and returns at any time.
Books borrowed from the smart library must be returned there and count toward the main library’s borrowing limit.
This feature is especially useful when the main library is closed.
First Floor Children’s Spaces
The first floor opens into a spacious hall filled with natural light.
This level houses Aranuri, the Children’s Room, along with multiple family-friendly zones.
Inside Aranuri, children can explore a wide selection of books in an open and comfortable layout.

Despite expectations, the variety of children’s books is surprisingly extensive.
The Children’s Zone and Toddler Room provide additional comfort for younger visitors.

A nursing room is also located within the Children’s Room for added convenience.
Second Floor Reading and Digital Areas
The second floor features the Mali Lounge, connected by stairs lined with bookshelves.
This floor is designed for teens and adults seeking quiet reading or resource exploration.
The Gayanuri General Materials Room offers a wide range of books and reference materials.
Seating options include standard chairs as well as shoe-free seating areas for relaxed reading.
A Digital Zone allows visitors to use computers for up to two hours per day.
This area supports document writing and internet research in a focused environment.
Third Floor Study Room and Terrace
The Saetbyeol Study Room occupies the third floor.
Large tables provide comfortable space for studying and long reading sessions.
During the visit, the room was exceptionally quiet, with most people deeply focused.
Out of respect for that atmosphere, photos were not taken.
A small terrace is also located on the third floor.
Though modest in size, it offers a pleasant spot to step outside for fresh air.
