Discovering the Tropical Oasis: Onshilrium in Ulsan

Hello, we are the official blog reporter group of Ulsan Metropolitan City.
As winter approaches and outdoor activities become challenging due to the cold, there is a place in Ulsan that shines even brighter during this season.
Located in Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, Onshilrium is an urban tropical plant garden.
✨ Address: 138 Dodongsin-ri, Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan
✨ Opening Hours: 10 AM - 6 PM
✨ Closed: Every Tuesday
✨ Free parking available
Spanning 8,143 square meters, the garden was designed by the CEO of Sitofos, who aimed to create a space that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape, light, wind, trees, and flowers.
Onshilrium was registered as Ulsan's first private garden on December 14, 2018, and it continues to thrive.
Key facilities include management offices, themed gardens (traditional, cultural, and plant gardens), and amenities such as parking, restrooms, experiential facilities, and lounges.
It offers a stunning view of the Yeongnam Alps, including Gajisan and Sinbulsan, making it a perfect place for relaxation.
The power of greenery revitalizes barren spaces, making it a perfect match for today's focus on eco-friendliness and natural aesthetics.
Onshilrium is a prime example of 'plant + interior,' showcasing plant-themed decor throughout the space.
CEO Lee Sang-chil has over 40 years of experience in landscaping, having started his journey in a challenging environment for floriculture in Ulsan.
Despite initial difficulties, he expanded his knowledge through support from local governments and companies, visiting advanced places in Europe and Israel.
Onshilrium is not just a café but a cultural space where visitors can enjoy coffee and various plants, emphasizing a nature-friendly lifestyle.
The prices for beverages are reasonable, and the menu includes a wide selection of coffee, tea, and refreshing drinks.
Signature drinks include 'Onshildaum,' a latte topped with homemade matcha cream, and 'Tropical Aid,' a sweet and tangy drink with plum, lychee, and mango.
Onshilrium combines British landscaping techniques with traditional methods, taking about a year and a half to develop the space.
To address the challenges of temperature management, the design utilizes natural slopes and geothermal energy.
With 180 species of plants, including subtropical trees and rare domestic species, Onshilrium is a sanctuary from the harsh winter outside.
Visitors can enjoy the panoramic view of the Yeongnam Alps from the rooftop garden, making it a perfect spot for relaxation.
Lee emphasized that Onshilrium was not initially intended to be a private garden but evolved through accumulated experience and a desire to create a beautiful space with flowers and trees.
Onshilrium's signature drink 'Onshildaum' surprised many with its delightful taste, encouraging visitors to experience the winter healing it offers.
Ulsan City will continue to discover and register excellent private gardens to promote a culture of gardening in daily life.
Thank you for your attention!
