Discovering the Hidden Gem: Mimine in Ikseon-dong

Welcome!
I'm Ttubukcho, a food lover exploring hidden gems on foot.
Today, I visited Mimine, a cold pork belly restaurant in Ikseon-dong!
When you think of Ikseon-dong, pork belly comes to mind.
Every time I visit, I ponder, "Where should I go for meat today?"
I found a hidden gem with great value and delicious cold pork belly, and I want to share it with you!
Mimine is located in a Hanok alley in Ikseon-dong, Jongno-gu.
It's about a 5-8 minute walk from Jongno 3-ga Station.
The small sign and entrance ambiance give off a traditional yet hip vibe of Ikseon-dong.
The space consists of about 7-8 cozy tables, primarily round tables for four, making it perfect for a quiet meal with friends or a date.
The walls are adorned with fun decorations, creating a more hip and free atmosphere compared to the Hanok alley outside.
They offer set menus for easy selection, along with various meal options, side dishes, and drinks.
There's even a highball option for those who don't drink soju or beer!
Once seated, a hearty spread is served right away!

You'll enjoy a variety of sides like green onion salad, kimchi, garlic, and ssamjang, perfect for pairing with the cold pork belly.
The overall presentation is neat and straightforward, allowing you to focus on the meat.
If you're looking for a cost-effective cold pork belly spot, this is a significant advantage!
We ordered a combination of frozen pork belly, thinly sliced pork neck, and brisket.
The meat looked fantastic, and I couldn't wait to dig in!

The pork belly is said to be grade 1 high pork, sourced domestically.
Don't forget to order the water parsley, which is included in the set; it's incredibly tender and delicious!
We arranged everything on the grill, including the kimchi to grill alongside the meat.
Starting with the pork neck was a great choice!
It cooks quickly on the grill, allowing for immediate enjoyment.
Despite being pork neck, it was juicy and not at all dry, with a perfect balance of fat and lean meat, offering a delightful flavor.
Wrapping it in lettuce was incredibly tasty!
I immediately ordered a beer to complement the meal.

The pepper shaker on the side allows you to customize your seasoning.
The high pork belly had a beautiful layer of fat and meat, delivering a rich flavor without being greasy.
Grilling the kimchi alongside was a perfect pairing, enhancing the overall experience.
I truly indulged that day; Mimine is a confirmed cold pork belly haven!
The stuffed chili peppers and enoki mushroom rolls, paired with soy sauce, were a delightful treat.
Lastly, the Shin Ramyeon risotto is a must-try!
I chose wisely; the spicy flavor of the broth complemented the dish perfectly.
Grilling it thinly on the hot plate made it even better, especially when paired with the brisket!
I highly recommend it!
