Discovering Changnyeong's Hidden Gem: A Ginkgo Forest Retreat

Hello, I'd like to introduce a hidden gem in Changnyeong, Gyeongnam: a beautiful ginkgo tree forest.
It's located near the Changnyeong Sleep Rest Area (towards Yangpyeong) on the highway. However, it's difficult to guarantee the rest area entrance will be open.
Therefore, it's best to search for "289 Tamha-ri, Changnyeong-eup, Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do" to find it.
You'll arrive at a place where trucks are parked. Walk towards the rest area from the truck parking area.
You'll see a Korea Expressway Corporation sign, and in front of it, you'll find a path like the one in the picture. Enter there to discover the ginkgo forest.
The path is designed to loop around the forest, allowing you to fully explore the ginkgo trees.
If you visit now, the colors will likely be even more vibrant, though the leaves are also starting to fall.
While not very large, the ginkgo trees are close together, creating a forest-like atmosphere. Benches are provided for a relaxing break.
Although the highway is nearby, the trees provide enough cover that you won't be bothered by the traffic.
The ginkgo trees appear healthy, and their vibrant colors are stunning.
There are many photo opportunities, especially during sunset for a more emotional and atmospheric feel.
The path is well-maintained for easy walking, but be aware of fallen ginkgo nuts. It's best to avoid stepping on them, but it's hard to avoid them completely.
The leaves may have been mostly green when these photos were taken, but now they should be a beautiful yellow, or perhaps already falling.
Yellow ginkgo trees are most beautiful at sunset, when the yellow and red hues blend perfectly.
What about the view in the sunlight? Walking among the trees as sunlight filters through the leaves is also a great experience.
If you're unsure where to go for your Gyeongnam trip, why not plan a fall trip to Changnyeong?
Besides this spot, there are other ginkgo tree attractions like Yeongsan Mannyeonggyo Bridge and Shindang Saemaeul Hall.
This was an introduction to the hidden gem of Changnyeong's ginkgo forest in Tamha-ri.
