Hello!

2025 is passing by in the blink of an eye.

Let me introduce you to a very special place where you can enjoy a moment of relaxation with a book amidst your busy life.

Located at Deokjeong Station on Line 1 in Yangju City, the U-Library is an unmanned library inside the station.

If you haven't had the time to visit a library during your commute or outings, make sure to check this out today!

Next to Deokjeong Station, there's a public unmanned parking lot, making it convenient to park when visiting the Deokjeong 5-day market or nearby shops and facilities.

The parking lot operates 24/7 and accepts only credit and debit card payments.

First 5 minutes: Free

Basic charge: 600 KRW for 30 minutes

After 30 minutes, 200 KRW for every 10 minutes

Deokjeong Station has only one exit, making it less crowded compared to other stations. It serves as a transportation hub with buses connecting to Yangju, Dongducheon, Uijeongbu, and Pocheon.

In front of Deokjeong Station, the Deokjeong 5-day market opens on the 2nd and 7th of every month, offering delicious donuts, corn, various vegetables, fish, and side dishes, making it a fun place to explore.

The U-Library, operated by the Yangju City Library, enhances access to reading for citizens by providing an unmanned book borrowing and returning system, catering to those who are too busy to visit traditional libraries.

About a 5-minute walk from Deokjeong Station, the Deokjeong Library offers additional books not available at the U-Library.

To use the U-Library, follow these steps:

  1. Sign up on the Yangju City Library website.
  2. Bring your ID or a copy of your resident registration and visit a nearby library to confirm your membership and obtain a library card.

Once you have registered, install the LibroPia app on your phone, register your membership number, and you can easily access the library.

Borrowing and returning books is simple!

You can borrow books 24/7, any day of the year. The process is straightforward:

  1. Search for the desired book.
  2. Select the book.
  3. Authenticate yourself.
  4. Borrow the book.

The U-Library has around 500 books, including popular and recommended titles, making it easy to choose what to read.

Each person can borrow up to 2 books. If you want to check for specific titles, simply click the [Book Search] button to explore novels, essays, self-development, children's books, and more.

To borrow, add your desired books to the basket and proceed to the monitor on the right side to select [Borrow] or [Return].

Scan your membership card at the designated area. Once your membership is confirmed, the selected books will be available for you to take.

Borrowing takes about 1-2 minutes, perfect for reading an essay or poetry collection while commuting.

The borrowing period is 14 days and cannot be extended. To return, visit the U-Library, select the [Return] button on the monitor, scan the book, and place it in the opening when prompted.

The U-Library at Deokjeong Station allows you to read while using public transportation!

Yangju City conducts various projects annually, including a reading marathon and book selection. Let's gather even more mental nourishment next year!
