Date Ideas in Jongno: Part 2
1-Gil 33-10, Bukchon-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul
도마 유즈라멘 안국점

Continuing the perfect Jongno date course, the evening led to a truly satisfying culinary experience at Doma & Yuzuramen Anguk (도마 유즈라멘 안국점). On a busy Christmas Eve, a lucky same-day reservation allowed us to skip the long lines and dive straight into a feast of premium beef and truffle-infused delicacies. This spot is a unique fusion where high-end grilled meat meets the famous yuzu-flavored ramen, creating a diverse menu that caters to both casual diners and gourmets.
The atmosphere is quiet and upscale, featuring a bar-style seating area where professional staff grill the meat to perfection right before your eyes. From the unique texture of beef tongue to the luxurious aroma of fresh truffle ramen, every dish served was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. For anyone planning a romantic evening in the Bukchon or Anguk area, this is a destination that guarantees satisfaction.
A Luxurious Start: Premium Beef Sets and Professional Grilling
The dining experience began at the bar, which is the preferred choice for those who want their meat grilled by experts. We opted for both Doma Set A and Set B to experience a full range of cuts. The menu includes everything from tender beef sashimi and rich ribeye to flavorful marinated short ribs. The staff’s attentive service ensured that each cut was cooked to the ideal temperature, allowing us to focus entirely on the conversation and the meal.
Highlight of the Night: Beef Tongue and Texture
One of the most surprising highlights was the beef tongue. It possessed a remarkably pleasant texture that stood out among the other premium cuts. Accompanied by refreshing drinks—a crisp draft beer for him and a lemon-infused tonic for me—the richness of the meat was perfectly balanced. The restaurant even provides a dedicated coat closet, ensuring your clothes remain fresh and free of any charcoal scent.
The Perfect Finish: Truffle Ramen and Miso Stew
No visit to this location is complete without trying the "Yuzuramen" side of the menu. We ordered the Clam Truffle Ramen, which arrived with an intense and luxurious truffle aroma that filled the air. The deep, savory broth paired with the stone pot rice and their signature "addictive" miso stew made for an incredibly hearty conclusion to the meal. It’s rare to find a place that excels equally in both BBQ and noodle dishes.
Cozy Ambiance and Friendly Service
Despite being a popular hotspot, the Anguk branch maintains a calm and organized environment. The separation of the ramen-only section and the meat grilling section allows for a tailored dining experience. With friendly staff and a clean, modern interior, it was the ideal place to recharge before heading to the next destination on our Jongno date itinerary.
Have you ever tried the unique combination of yuzu-flavored ramen and charcoal-grilled beef in one meal? If you're visiting Anguk for a date, would you prefer the lively bar seating or a more private table for your dinner? Let me know if you'd like to see the next part of this Jongno date series!
