Daegu Catholic University Museum, established in 1977, is a comprehensive university museum affiliated with Daegu Catholic University, which was founded in 1914. It offers a glimpse into the history of the university and the culture of the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.

Originally opened on the old Bongdeok-dong campus, the museum moved to the Hayang campus and reopened in its own building in 1989.

Since then, the museum has systematically collected, preserved, and exhibited materials related to the university's history, archaeology, folklore, and anthropology, establishing itself as a leading university museum in the region.

The Daegu Catholic University Museum is housed in a separate building with one basement floor and three above-ground floors, covering approximately 3,800㎡. It boasts a collection of around 6,600 artifacts.

The first floor features the University History Exhibition Hall, showcasing the evolution of Daegu Catholic University.

From its early days to the present, the exhibition introduces the university's founding philosophy, campus relocation process, and major educational and research achievements through various photographs, artifacts, and records, providing a comprehensive understanding of the university's journey.

The slightly yellowish paper, handwritten notes, and old fonts evoke the dreams, tensions, and excitement of the students of that era.

The second floor houses the Donors Exhibition Hall and the Kim Joja Special Exhibition Hall,

where valuable artifacts donated by individuals from both within and outside the university, as well as thematic special exhibitions, are held regularly.

This exhibition allows you to redraw old and present Hayang.

On a warm spring day, imagine the beautiful Hayang, like its old name Kkotjae(meaning a village full of flowers), and join us on this special journey.

The permanent exhibition hall on the third floor showcases archaeological, historical, and folklore materials from the prehistoric period to the Joseon Dynasty, organized by era.

It offers a three-dimensional view of the flow of Korean traditional culture.

Another highlight of the Daegu Catholic University Museum is the opportunity to glimpse the region's culture and lifestyle.

One side of the exhibition hall features old household items, farming tools, pieces of pottery and roof tiles excavated from the region, and photographs of the villages surrounding the school in the past.
