What is Camp Greaves?
Camp Greaves, located in Paju, Gyeonggi Province,
is a DMZ experience center.
The government provided it as a U.S. military base in 1953.
After the U.S. troops withdrew in 2004,
the DMZ Experience Center opened in 2013.
Originally owned by the Ministry of National Defense,
ownership was transferred to Gyeonggi Province,
which now operates Camp Greaves.

A Space of Peace, Coexistence, History, Culture, and Art
Camp Greaves embodies peace and coexistence,
and serves as a space for history, culture, and art.
The DMZ, a place with a history of war and division,
offers a space to witness the messages of life and peace
that the DMZ has always held.
Camp Greaves offers various experience programs,
including the Military DMZ for trying on military uniforms,
Greeves Steering, an escape room format,
and Challenge DMZ Golden Bell, with diverse programs
available for everyone from elementary students to adults.
Gallery Greaves, an exhibition hall, is a renovated
bowling alley used by the U.S. military.
It offers storytelling exhibitions and
introduces ‘Camp Greaves Certificate Experience Contents’
allowing visitors to directly experience interactive exhibitions.

Exhibition Space: Appreciating Upcycling Art in the Armory
The armory was used to supply ammunition
to U.S. military units in the Munsan area during the U.S. military presence.
Currently, you can appreciate two works
in Armory 2:
‘Lee Seung-geun - Do Not Cross This Line’ and
‘Kim Myung-beom - One’.
This renovation will showcase a new work
by artist Yeon Jin-young, who has been transforming industrial remnants into art,
titled ‘Folded Habitat’.
This work uses military supplies such as barracks, tents,
and survival blankets actually used by the U.S. military,
reinterpreting spaces marked by tension and survival
as habitats of life and coexistence in this installation art piece.
You can take time to interpret the work
while looking at the survival blankets.
This exhibition is characterized by its upcycling art.
By using recycled yarn from recycled plastic
and sustainable materials like Hanji paper yarn,
you can encounter the organic process
of life being created through the artwork.

The space, with its industrial atmosphere, is decorated
with Christmas decorations and photo zones, creating a unique home party atmosphere
where you can enjoy a romantic Christmas.

and the Christmas space at Cafe Greaves, Camp Greaves
has various exhibition spaces and attractions.
‘Docu Hall 3,’ which recreates the living spaces
of the U.S. military unit, is scheduled to open this year.
It is the only accommodation-type cultural and artistic experience space
within the Civilian Control Zone.
Exhibition tours are also conducted using the bowling alley
used by the U.S. military after the armistice and the BEQ,
a non-commissioned officer's quarters, making it perfect to visit now
that self-guided tours are available.
