A Winter Night in Seoul

On a winter night, I began my journey at the entrance of Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul.
I moved to Myeongdong Station to meet my friends. It had been a while since we last met, so we strolled through the streets of Myeongdong, sharing various stories and enjoying each other's company.
The streets were filled with the festive atmosphere of the year-end, where laughter and lights blended together, radiating warmth. The stunning night view in front of Shinsegae Department Store and the illuminated fountain made the winter night even more beautiful.
As we passed Sungnyemun and arrived at City Hall Plaza, the Christmas tree shone brightly, conveying the excitement of the season. We paused for a moment to take photos, captivated by the sparkling lights.
Next, we headed toward Gwanghwamun Square. However, the crowd was so dense that moving forward was quite challenging. Yet, the projection on the main gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace was enough to capture our attention for a brief moment. In this landscape where history and light intertwined, I could feel another charm of Seoul.
We also planned to see the Cheonggyecheon Light Festival, but it was equally crowded there. It was difficult to even enter the Cheonggyecheon area. Feeling a bit disappointed, we walked along Cheonggyecheon-ro and headed toward Jongno.
We stopped by a small herbal tea house behind Pagoda Park in Jongno 3-ga and warmed ourselves with a cup of Ssanghwa-tang. Sharing stories that we hadn’t had the chance to tell before while holding warm teacups was precious. As laughter and memories flowed, the winter night deepened.
Leaving with a sense of longing, we parted ways, promising to keep in touch as we headed home. It was a night filled with dazzling lights, bustling streets, and warm conversations with friends that would linger in my heart for a long time.
