A Tranquil Morning at Daewangam Park

On the dawn of February in the new year, I took a stroll at Daewangam in Dong-gu, Ulsan.
This post captures the breathtaking sunrise and scenery of Daewangam Park, which made me forget the extreme cold.
Starting from the live fish center in Bangojin, I headed towards the park to witness the sunrise.
At the end of the Bangojin breakwater, a lighthouse illuminated the harbor, guiding the boats with its dazzling light.
The boundary between the lights of the fish restaurants in Bangojin and the surrounding darkness was serene.
Morning awaited quietly, not striving to be beautiful.
The calmness and indifference of that dawn moved me. It reminded me that nature can be beautiful without effort.
Bangojin, where fishing boats docked after a night of work, was abundant. The dawn here, fading gently, signaled the approach of a new day without demanding anything.
Walking along the beach from Seongkkut Village to Daewangam, I passed by a historical site where a stone fortress was built during the Joseon Dynasty to confine horses.
The village, adorned with beautiful lights, and the sea, deep in slumber, seemed to enjoy a morning date.
The boundary between darkness and light was surprisingly quiet and beautiful. The sound of crashing waves felt like a lullaby, yet it was also somewhat frightening.
The ever-swaying waves advised me to be patient and not to rush myself.
In front of this soothing sound, I resolved to have the confidence to endure the new year.
The persistent waves, revealing their fullness, awakened my senses. The unseen sea, like a religious figure, quenched my thirst without offering a drop of water.
As I walked along the coast in silent meditation, history, legends, and breathtaking views unfolded like magic in the darkness.
Only those who walk with an open heart can receive the gifts that nature presents like a puzzle.
The curved pine trees displayed humility and courtesy, revealing an unadorned purity while guarding the shore.
My eyes were dazzled by the new spectacle visible in the darkness, leaving me speechless in awe.
The magnificent sunrise at Daewangam was approaching as the colors of dawn gradually changed.
The grandeur of the tidal rocks half-submerged in the sea and the mysteries of nature stirred my heart.
In the twilight, the watchtowers and barbed wire that guarded the coast became faintly visible.
I walked, contemplating the chilling saying that unexamined history repeats itself.
The brilliant sun of February rose between the clouds.
In that moment, I recalled the phrase '宁静致远' (tranquility leads to distance) from Zhuge Liang's letter to his son.
It signifies that one must calm their heart and set their intentions to achieve great wishes.
As I turned back to look at the sea, the view remained enchanting.
The sea, pine trees, and the radiant sun showcased the essence of inspiration and freedom.
The scenery created by the sunrise offered a new dimension of inspiration.
The conch rocks and black tidal rocks accepted the splendid sunrise, obedient to nature's will.
Returning to the lively Bangojin fish market, seagulls greeted me with their calls.
Bangojin, welcoming the morning, was bustling with activity.
Various fish caught from the sea awaited auction under the guidance of the auctioneer.
It felt as if the old glory of this once-vibrant fishing village was being revived.
Red crabs moved energetically, and the fish, displaying their white bellies against the floor, created a magnificent scene.
There was an abundance of flounders, known as water flounders, participant flounders, and striped flounders.
Every fish caught from the deep sea was captivating.
As I left the fish market, the lighthouse at Sildo waved me goodbye.
Everywhere I looked, the scenery of Bangojin turned into a piece of art, filling my heart with richness.
The walk concluded joyfully, accompanied by the serene waves of Sildo, leaving me with a lingering sense of the beauty I experienced today.
