August 15, 2025

Today is National Liberation Day of Korea.

My daughter's performance practice was canceled today, so she's coming down to Sejong around lunchtime.

We were wondering where to go, and since we've never been to the Sejong National Arboretum as a family, we decided to go today.

Let's get started!

Here's some information to help you plan your visit:

Location: 508, Sejong-ri, Yeongi-myeon, Sejong-si

Daytime Hours: 09:00 AM ~ 5:00 PM (Last entry at 4:30 PM)

Admission Fees: Adults ₩5,000 / Teenagers ₩4,000 / Children ₩3,000

Free for families with 2 or more children

Night Opening: Limited operation by season (6:00 PM ~ 10:00 PM)

Admission Fee: ₩3,000 for adults, 50% discount for Sejong citizens

Parking: Ample free parking available (entrance may be restricted at night)

Free until August 17th!

I highly recommend driving there!

The parking lot is very spacious.

Today, it's free and there are many events, so the parking lot was quite full and we had to walk a bit.

The walk from the parking lot is very pretty!

We visited around 6 PM after dinner.

It was still quite hot.

Free admission from August 14th (Thursday) to August 17th (Sunday).

80th National Liberation Day Celebration: Great Rose of Sharon (Mugunghwa) Festival - Free admission from August 14th (Thursday) to August 17th (Sunday).

We were lucky that it was a free admission day, so we enjoyed it for free.

August Closed Days

Regular closed days in August.

Here are the night opening hours and areas.

They are giving out 500 limited-edition lanterns.

We arrived around 6:10 PM and there was no wait.

Those who came for the night opening were lining up a lot around 7:30 PM.

So, we returned it quickly.

Stroller & Wheelchair Rental

There is a rental place on the right as soon as you enter.

Garden Center

There is a space to buy plants on the right as soon as you enter.

They are currently running a 1+1 event, and you can also find companion plants based on your MBTI.

There is a cashier and a self-packaging area.

There is a companion plant studio where you can do self-repotting.

Pot size 20 (diameter 20CM) is ₩2,009.

Large pot size 20 (diameter 20CM) is ₩5,000.

I should repot here.

Today was National Liberation Day and a holiday, so there were many family tourists.

We also went with our daughter.

It was nice to spend a day with plants.

Here are some of the sights to see:

 Dreamlike Moment Bright Future

Four Seasons Exhibition Greenhouse

We went up to the second floor.

We could see the entire city of Sejong, and it was so beautiful at sunset.

Happy Time

When you come down to the first floor, you can appreciate Van Gogh's paintings.

There were too many people, so I couldn't take good pictures.

Took pictures in between~~~

Sweet Garden

If you have young children, you will spend a lot of time here, but we just went in and came out ????

There are many things for children to play with.

They were doing a lot of sand play and making fruit baskets.

Sensory Garden

We loved this place so much.

It was so nice to smell the rosemary.

We took pictures, and the sunset was so beautiful~~~

But because of menopause, I was sweating too much, so I couldn't go to the night opening area.

I wanted to go home quickly.

You can look around for 3 hours, but we only looked around for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Oh my, I was so tired, I just wanted to go home.

But the sunset was so beautiful.

It was a short but fulfilling summer evening outing.

Thanks to the free admission and the Mugunghwa Festival, my family was able to enjoy a leisurely walk.

The Sejong National Arboretum is beautiful during the day, but the night view with the sunset is truly charming.

Next time, I want to come back when the weather is a little cooler so I can enjoy it more leisurely.
