Recently, a new kimchi stew specialty restaurant opened in Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul.

Out of curiosity, I decided to visit the place myself.

These days, I tend to trust restaurants that focus on one or two dishes rather than those with extensive menus.

So, I visited with high expectations.

The restaurant is conveniently located near a residential area, making it easy for local residents to visit.

Although it is slightly set back from the main road, it was not difficult to find using navigation.

Upon entering, I found the dining area to be surprisingly spacious.

The tables were set apart comfortably, making it likely that diners could enjoy their meals without feeling cramped during lunch or dinner peak hours.

The atmosphere is relaxed, suitable for solo diners as well as groups, giving it a vibe that could attract regulars from the neighborhood.

The biggest feature of this restaurant is its simplicity in the menu.

✔ Kimchi Stew

✔ Duru-chigi (stir-fried meat)

These are the only two dishes they offer.

At that moment, I thought, "This place focuses on the basics rather than expanding the menu."

Such places often have confidence in their ingredients, whether it's kimchi, meat, or seasoning, which made me even more excited.

The kimchi stew was served bubbling in a traditional earthenware pot, and it looked visually appealing with a generous amount of kimchi and meat.

The broth was:

✔ Not too spicy

✔ Refreshingly tangy

✔ Rich in the deep flavors of kimchi.

Rather than being overly stimulating, it had the comforting taste of homemade kimchi stew, making it easy to eat with rice.

It was a flavor that anyone could enjoy.

Although I only tried the kimchi stew this time, I was eager to try the duru-chigi on my next visit.

I noticed that delivery app notifications kept buzzing inside the restaurant, indicating that they also have a strong delivery business.

If you're nearby, ordering kimchi stew or duru-chigi for delivery would be a great option.

✔ Simple menu but focused on the basics

✔ Spacious dining area for comfortable meals

✔ A neighborhood gem with many delivery orders

If you're looking for a hearty meal like homemade kimchi stew near Bongcheon-dong, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

I believe this kimchi stew specialty restaurant will soon have many regulars among the local residents.
