Hello,

This is the Gyeongsangbuk-do SNS Reporter Team!

As late autumn passes, the cold weather is creeping in.

They say the colder the weather, the more we need to move our bodies.

So, this time, I'd like to introduce Nammaeji Pond, a great place for a walk located in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk!

This lakeside is located in the center of Gyeongsan City.

Perhaps that's why many locals come here for walks or exercise.

Also, I liked that there were many convenient facilities in Nammae Park, such as a slow mailbox, a dust cleaner, and a small library!

There's a hidden legend in Nammae Park.

Long ago, a brother and sister lived together in Gyeongsan. The younger brother died of illness, and the siblings lived sharing their affection for each other.

However, in the pond where the siblings lived (Nammaeji Pond), the sorrowful older sister, mourning her brother's death, threw herself into the water, and they both drowned together.

Since then, the pond has been called Nammaeji Pond, and it is said that the legend commemorates the siblings' affectionate bond and filial piety.

Knowing the legend makes it a sad story, but seeing their deep affection and filial piety made me reflect on humanity.

The building you see across the way is Yeungnam University.

It seems great for Yeungnam University students to take a walk and heal, as it's located right in front of the beautiful Nammaeji Pond.

There's also an unmanned store in Nammae Park.

It's operated unmanned, so you can order by paying for items with a kiosk!

There was a variety of items such as coffee, drinks, and ramen.

Nammae Park has well-separated walking paths and bike paths,

so I think it's a great place to walk.

Also, Nammae Park itself is a bit large, so you can feel healthier by taking a lap around it!

There were chairs to sit and rest everywhere, and there was also a Nammaeji barefoot walking path.

It is said that pets, bicycles, and kickboards are prohibited on the barefoot path!

It was so nice to just stare blankly at the lake and heal.

A taxi driver said during the ride, "People in Gyeongsan come here in the evening to walk," so I can confidently say it's a park for the residents!

Why don't you come to Nammaeji Pond and give yourself, who is exhausted from daily life, some healing?

It seems like a great place to make memories with family, friends, and lovers and chat while walking together!

That's all for the story of Gyeongsan Nammaeji Pond that I brought!

Have a safe and enjoyable trip until the end of 2025!
