I wasn't particularly interested in reptiles, but after visiting insect museums and petting zoos with my daughter, where I saw various reptiles, I've recently become curious. I heard that a Crested Gecko shop, selling Crested Geckos which are known to be easy for beginners to raise, opened in Yeongjong Sky City, Incheon, so I decided to visit.

This Incheon Crested Gecko shop is located in Yeongjong Sky City, though there are also branches in Cheongna and Geomdan. The shop isn't huge, but I found it very clean and well-maintained, with a nice interior. Parking is available in the underground garage, and the shop is on the 2nd floor. The office building has plenty of parking space.

Honestly, I was a little worried that we might feel out of place since we aren't reptile owners, but the owner seemed to sense our apprehension and answered even our most basic questions patiently and kindly. Thanks to this, my daughter became more and more interested in reptiles and even dared to touch them.

My daughter is usually quite timid and takes a while to try new things, but the owner waited patiently for her hesitation and encouraged her, allowing her to put a Crested Gecko on her arm. After this 'skinship' with the reptile, my daughter seemed to become even more fond of them (and started asking to keep one at home from that moment on!).

I touched one too, and the texture was really soft and novel. I guess this is the charm that makes people want to raise reptiles.

Valuable experience

Pet reptiles don't shed fur or bark, and you only need to feed them every 2-3 days. Hearing this, I realized that raising them might be easier compared to other pets.

This place had a wide variety of reptiles. I didn't know much about reptiles, but the owner explained everything in detail, making me feel like I gained a lot of reptile knowledge. (It's a shame I couldn't capture it all in photos.)

I asked which reptile is the easiest to raise, and they recommended the Leopard Gecko. Unlike other reptiles, you don't have to feed them crickets; they grow well even with just food pellets. You only need to feed them every 2-3 days, and the temperature and humidity requirements aren't too strict, making them suitable for beginners. That's the one my daughter and I touched earlier. There are several types of Leopard Geckos, and the one in the picture is called 'Lily White.' It's the most popular type. (No wonder it caught my eye.)

There was a chameleon in one of the cages, and it was very amusing. The way it struggled to climb the glass wall looked like it was dancing, making it so cute.

Amazing sight

The reptiles in the black cages are for enthusiasts, while the ones in the white cages are cost-effective options for beginners. They clearly separated them, making it easy for someone like me, who knows nothing about reptiles, to understand.

There were not only many kinds of reptiles, but also a lot of supplies. From reptile food to various accessories to decorate the cages, and even cute reptile keychains! Seeing all of this, I even considered adopting a reptile.

This was my first visit to the Crested Gecko reptile shop, Creprism, in Incheon. I was so grateful that they didn't just sell reptiles, but also provided various explanations about them and even allowed us to touch them.

Happy time

When you go to a farm or a small zoo, you often have to pay an entrance fee, and if you want to pet a reptile, you have to stand in line behind countless children and wait a long time for a chance. But here, the owner, who is a reptile expert, provides individual explanations and experiences!

This visit made me feel strongly about the charm of reptiles, and I learned a lot about them. My daughter begged me, but since it was our first visit, I didn't decide to adopt one. If I continue to feel this charm, I might actually adopt one in the future.
