A Delicious Taco Experience at El Carnitas Ikseon
One of my all-time favorite foods: tacos!!!
I set out to find a taco spot in Ikseon-dong.
I visited on a weekend for lunch, and here’s my honest review!

Today's restaurant is a Mexican place!
El Carnitas Ikseon
It's about a 3-minute walk from Exit 4 of Jongno 3-ga Station.
We arrived around 1:30 PM on Saturday and there was no waiting.
(Based on reviews, it seems there can be waiting during peak times.)
Menu and Taste Review
Now for the most important part: the menu and taste!
Here’s what we ordered:
Gwanganda Taco
Gopchang Taco
Carnitas Taco
+
Jarritos Mango
The portion was just right for two people.
‼️ Quick tip: If you don't like cilantro, make sure to ask for it to be left out. I forgot and ended up eating it, but it was surprisingly good!
Gwanganda Taco and Jarritos
The highlight of the meal was definitely the Gwanganda Taco ⭐️⭐️⭐️.
It had a unique flavor, and the tortilla was both chewy and crispy, making it very enjoyable.
The Gopchang Taco was mild and light, while the Carnitas Taco was saltier and made with pork.
The tacos were simple, focusing on the main ingredients and onions, adhering to a more traditional Mexican style rather than a fusion approach.
If you expect a lot of vegetables, you might find it a bit lacking.
This simplicity allows you to fully appreciate the flavor of the meat and the richness of the tortilla, offering a fresh and clean taste.
This time, we only tried tacos, but I would love to explore other menu items next time.
Ambiance
The restaurant has a unique vibe, blending traditional Hanok architecture with a Mexican flair.
The interior decor and music really set the Mexican mood.
The atmosphere was neither too quiet nor too loud, making it easy to have a conversation.
In conclusion, if I could recommend just one menu item to reorder, it would definitely be the Gwanganda Taco ⭐️⭐️!
I highly recommend it!
Also, try a variety of dishes instead of sticking to just tacos!
