A Day Out in Gwanghwamun: Pancakes, Books, and a Little Bit of Chaos

Maybe it's the heat, but lately, I've been feeling like quitting everything...
But I gotta keep going...

Wow, I'm super behind... hahaha
Anyway, enjoy!
Today was the day I was supposed to meet up with a senior from school at Kyobo Bookstore in Gwanghwamun...
Since yesterday was Independence Day, there were Korean flags everywhere.
Felt patriotic and took a picture..
But it turned out there was a demonstration happening today...
I don't know if it's every Saturday, or if it just happened to be on the day I went, but...
It was a bit much.
It was so loud....................................
I called my senior to meet up, but
the noise level was so high that I couldn't hear them on the phone.
But we managed to meet up somehow.
And then!
We went to the restaurant we had originally planned to go to.
Where was it?
Here!
We ordered pancakes, salad, and a mysterious thing called a Dutch Baby.
It was delicious.
Just classic pancakes. The epitome of pancakes.
You could feel the deliciousness just from the warmth of it coming straight from the oven.
The cream that came with it was a butter cream that wasn't sweet.
It's delicious if you drizzle syrup on it and eat it together!!!!
The beautiful form of the chicken tender salad.
It was delicious...
I liked that the chicken was substantial.
And the bacon was the kick.
My senior said that salad is all about the dressing,
and I agree.

They say it's a German pancake.
It is... tasty.
When the menu comes out, the staff mixes various seasonings in the open middle part.
Perhaps because of that, it has a subtle lemon flavor.
It's delicious.
But... something about it.
I was thinking it would be nice if they reduced the size a little and sold it at a lower price...
The lighting was unique and cute... so I took a picture.
Hahaha
We went straight to Kyobo Bookstore after eating.
It was nearby... hehe We got there quickly.
The demonstration was still going on, so my ears were a little tired.
As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was in heaven because it was so cool.
There were quite a few people,
but my senior said that this is average.
Oh......
It wasn't easy.
My senior recommended a lot of books.
They said they'd lend them to me later.

but my senior said it looked like a cheap self-help book, so I put it down.
Looking at the contents, it did seem like that, so I was like... hmm
We talked a lot while looking at psychology books.
Especially memorable was a book about how to be a good person?
It was something along those lines (I don't remember exactly)
Anyway, we talked a lot.
I guess this is growth...
After browsing the books,
my senior said there was an exhibition they wanted to see, so we moved there...
They say Kyobo Bookstore regularly hosts various exhibitions.
Oh...
If I come again next time, I wonder what kind of exhibition they'll have then.
Anyway, there were several paintings.

there was a lady selling Dalgona (Korean sugar candy)...
I couldn't resist... I bought one.
Now we've reached the era where they cost 2000 won each

The egg tart was legendary.
I tried a sip of the coffee and it was delicious.
The Ade was decent...
Only the cake was so-so.
Ah, I really need to go to a really good cake shop.

Anyway, while eating... we talked about game planning.
I felt good because a lot of ideas came out.
We drew pictures together in a notebook,
and my senior said: You're like an elementary school student.
I admit it...
We went to a karaoke after the cafe.
We sang for an hour maybe
But maybe it's just me, but I felt like the time was going by super fast.
Is it for circulation...? Hmm
I went and sang a Vocaloid medley... lololololol
I didn't know any other songs... so I sang the same repertoire I had in 6th grade,
and as expected... it was hard.
I can't reach the notes.
But I realized why people sing ballads at karaoke.
It's fun to sing songs you can belt out.
Even if you can't sing well, you have to belt it out lololololol
I should pick some songs to sing next time I go.
Anyway, it was fun singing after a long time... hahaha
Maybe I'll even go alone later?
Went to eat dinner
We were originally going to go to a cocktail bar
but the timing was awkward...
So we decided to just eat and call it a day.
We went to a 곱창 (Gopchang - Korean grilled intestines) place.
We ordered a mixed grill.
Delicious.
First, we got bean sprout soup (really really delicious) and 천엽 (Cheonyeop - tripe) / raw liver?
The bean sprout soup was just... the kind of taste that makes you want to put rice in it and eat it all up,
Cheonyeop: no taste (literally no taste), my senior said: it tastes like a wet towel
I totally agree.
The liver... felt like eating undercooked sundae (Korean blood sausage).
It's not really my taste... but it was okay to eat.
The mixed grill was Daechang (large intestine) / Gopchang (small intestine) / Makchang (last part of the small intestine) / Yeomtong (heart)? / There was one more... was it brisket?
Anyway, I don't remember,
but it was delicious...
It was my first time eating beef Gopchang,
and it was my first time seeing so much 곱 (Gop - fat inside the intestine) come out when eating Gopchang, so it was amazing.
But I think Daechang is better when eaten in a stew...
I guess there's a reason why YouTubers eat it with Buldak (spicy Korean noodles). It's delicious... hehe It's just really rich.

Unpopular opinion: Pork Gopchang is more delicious
I feel like you get tired of eating beef after a few pieces... no matter what cut it is...
Ate and went home.
On the way home, I guess because I didn't take my medicine, it was a little hard to keep my mind straight.
I was tired but not sleepy, so I went home in an 으어어... (groaning) state.
After saying goodbye to my senior, I went to the bus stop
Bus frequency: 22 minutes.
I woke up immediately.
There were no seats there, so I just stood and waited for 22 minutes.
I had no battery left, so I just listened to music.
I fell asleep as soon as I got on the bus.
I almost got off at the wrong stop again!!!
But I got off at the right stop this time. Hahaha
Came home and had a meeting
Watched the Divorce Deliberation Camp screening.
It's high-stimulation as expected.
It was a fulfilling day.
I'm sleepy now that I've written everything!
