I had another great opportunity to visit a manga cafe today!

I went with Bisin, and it was pouring rain.

This time, it's 'Bugs Manga Cafe' in Suwan District, Gwangju.

I have a lot to read in preparation for the movie releases next month (Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen)!

Bugs Manga Cafe is located on the 5th floor of Bogwang Sauna.

When you arrive using the address, you might initially wonder where it is!

Glamorous Scene

The parking lot has many spaces for women, so it was very easy to park, get in, and out.

They offer 4 hours and 30 minutes of free parking. I asked if I could re-enter after leaving, but they said it would be difficult (so I parked on a side street in between).

The elevator is fast!

Happy time

As soon as the elevator doors open, you see Bugs Manga Cafe. It's clean, and since I visited on a weekday afternoon, it wasn't crowded.

You put your shoes in a locker, hand over the key, choose your pass and you know the rest!

A full day pass is only ₩15,000 – a great value! They even have a poll for the best instant noodle flavor. The winner is Jjapagetti!

Valuable experience

As soon as you enter, there's a multi-purpose space where you can play ping pong, pool, foosball, Tekken, etc.

I really think it's great value! ₩3,000 per hour, regardless of weekday or weekend, and a full day pass for ₩15,000. It's much cheaper compared to other places.

All the food and drinks here are self-service. You can grab a cup of ice from the refrigerator and choose your drink.

Peaceful scenery

The entrance to another area has board games, puzzles, and massage chairs.

The interior is cozy and clean. There are decorations like Crayon Shin-chan, Iron Man, One Piece, etc.

They have a lot of game fantasy novels (this is my first time seeing this in a manga cafe). It seems the owner has specific tastes...

Charming photo

There are various seating options, from large beanbags to sofa tables.

They also have little nooks. About eight of them? It's not as big as I thought!

There are seats on the side, but the chairs are at a 90-degree angle, so I skipped them.

Happy moment

There's also a separate PlayStation room. You can bring a CD from the counter and play. Please refer to the photos for instructions.

If you add their Kakao Channel, you can receive event information. They will probably also post information about new releases.

Of course, they have a manga search station.

Interesting image

They also have a webtoon corner.

Besides manga, they also have children's books, MapleStory, Greek and Roman mythology, and adult novels.

I started lightly with a Demon Slayer spin-off, Kimetsu Academy. But it was too minor, so I only read one volume and passed.

Interesting image

I was hungry... so I ordered food too. I started lightly with Dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) over rice and Shin Ramyun (spicy ramen). Many items were sold out, which was disappointing.

After ordering, you have to go to the counter right away to prepare it.

Beautiful scenery

They have a ramen machine! You can experience that Han River flavor!

The smell was crazy good!

The ramen was so delicious! The machine is better than humans, I guess.

Mysterious appearance

However, all the drinks and food are instant, which is a bit disappointing... But I guess almost all other places are like this too?

For the second round, I enjoyed Jujutsu Kaisen and Blue Lock. Since there weren't many people, we both became one with the sofas.

I also got *sotteok-sotteok* (sausage and rice cake skewers) through a receipt review (anyone who pays for it is a fool!).

Glamorous Scene

For the second round, I had Jjapaguri (ramen and spaghetti mix) and *tteokbokki* (spicy rice cakes)... Machine, please do well this time, too!

This time, it was too retro... two meals were too much. Once was enough.

Happy moment

Because I had a full-day pass, I had all my meals here, haha.

They also have a lot of snacks and cup ramen. They have cheese and eggs as toppings, but it seems only cheese can be added to the ramen machine.

Impressive appearance

The bathroom is clean!

Final meal was Seolbing's Dubai Bingsoo (shaved ice dessert)... End of manga day!

Valuable experience

Things I liked:

  • The parking lot was spacious (4.5 hours free)
  • Located in the Suwan District
  • They have Netflix, PlayStation, and board games
  • The staff is friendly
  • The bathroom is clean and pleasant

Things I disliked:

  • All the food is instant (even the coffee)
  • It might be a bit noisy when crowded (so I recommend going on a weekday)
  • They have more game novels than manga
