My Lip Filler Journey

After years of lip filler that gradually became flat and unnatural, I decided to dissolve and redo my lips. This post shares my honest experience from consultation anxiety to the final balanced result, including swelling, retouching, and pricing details.
Why I Decided to Redo My Lip Filler
I naturally have thin lips, so I used to get lip fillers in Hongdae.
Over time, however, my lips became too flat and thin, which made me consider getting them redone properly.
I heard in advance that they would reshape my lips based on my natural structure, which raised my expectations.
Appointment & Consultation Experience
I tried to make an appointment four months after my last filler, but it wasn’t easy.
They asked me to choose a date without offering many options, which made scheduling frustrating.
In the end, I secured an early appointment two weeks in advance and waited anxiously.
The staff were friendly, and the doctor was kind and patient.
I have severe needle anxiety, so I was extremely nervous during the consultation and could barely think straight.
Procedure: Dissolving & Rebuilding
My goal was to follow my natural lip shape and shorten the philtrum.
I didn’t request a specific lip design, but I was told that some of the old filler that had spread would be dissolved.
After applying numbing cream, the procedure started immediately.
I was given a doll to hold because I was shaking from anxiety, which surprisingly helped.
The procedure was gentle and quick.
They used fewer injections than expected and moved around carefully, which made it far less painful than I feared.
Immediately After the Procedure
Right after the procedure, my lips looked very plump, and I honestly loved the result.
The upper lip was filled more prominently, but the doctor explained that about 30% of the swelling would go down.
Unexpected Swelling & Hyaluronidase Reaction
On my way home, I felt my lips swelling in real time.
They felt heavy and looked very puffy, but there was no pain—just an odd sensation.
Almost Two Weeks Later
The bruise on my philtrum faded quickly, and most of the swelling subsided.
Compared to my upper lip, my lower lip looked slightly thinner and had fewer wrinkles.
I decided not to wait and went back for a retouch.
Retouching & Final Result
The free retouch was available within two weeks, so I went back promptly.
I asked them to add volume only to my lower lip and not touch the upper lip.
The doctor respected my request and focused on balance and smoothing wrinkles.
The final result was fuller than any lips I’d had before.
At first, it felt like too much, but with my long philtrum, the volume actually balanced my face very well.
Overall Impression & Pricing
The clinic didn’t rush me like a factory.
The doctor personally handled my consultation, molding, and filler placement.
I also tried Botox, and the process was just as meticulous.
I truly felt that my lips were transformed rather than simply “filled.”
