Saebyeok Hair Salon in Hongdae is conveniently situated between Hongik University Station and Hapjeong Station, so you can choose the closest station!
I personally went from Exit 9 of Hongik University Station.
You can check the prices listed under the sign before entering.
Saebyeok Hair Salon uses both the 2nd and 3rd floors. You'll need to enter on the 2nd floor first.
The interior design features a monochrome color scheme, giving it a sophisticated and clean feel.
I also went up to the 3rd floor, which felt more private compared to the 2nd floor. It's clean and spacious! I decided to get my hair done on the 2nd floor.
Here's my hair before the perm.
It doesn't seem that long when you look at it from the front.
But I'm always surprised at how long it is when I see photos taken from behind! It was so long this time too, but since the perm will make it shorter, I only got some layers cut in without touching the length.
They offer a choice of water, coffee, sparkling water, or juice. I chose water because I was thirsty. It was my first time seeing a straw inserted through the lid like that!
After the haircut and shampoo, the real hippie perm began!
I got my hair done by Deputy Director Ai. I brought two photos with me, and she explained in detail how they were different and what kind of vibe each one would give, making it easy to choose.
Two people worked hard on rolling my hair.
A puppy appeared while I was getting my hair done… so cute! It seemed to love human touch, as it was hanging around different customers, seeking attention haha. I petted it and felt healed.
This is how it turned out after all the rollers! They neutralized it with water once in the middle.
I thought it would take longer, but it was done faster than I expected.
The curls turned out very bouncy! I'm doing a first-time hippie perm and I love it!
I was a little worried that it might be too much, but I think I could have gone for even tighter curls.
They even gave me hairpins to use when styling my bangs. I'll try to dry it well from now on.
