Underwhelming Traditional Korean Meal at Goraedeung Hanjeongsik near Bulguksa Temple

I recently took a family trip to Gyeongju during the holiday season. While searching for famous restaurants, I decided to visit Goraedeung Hanjeongsik near Bulguksa Temple.

As soon as we parked, we saw people waiting outside. Could this be a real popular restaurant?!

The parking lot isn't very big, so you might have to park carefully towards the sidewalk.

Since there were 7 adults and 1 baby, the wait was quite long. I think this is the only good restaurant nearby. There were quite a few people. I think we waited for about 30 minutes. There was a waiting area outside, but it was a bit uncomfortable because it was raining.

They also sell dried corvina to take away. I wonder if it's any good!

There was a room where you had to take off your shoes, but it was only big enough for about 4 people, so we had to sit outside. Because it was a holiday, many groups of 7-8 people were also visiting.

We ordered 5 sets of Gulbi (dried corvina) rice set menu and 2 sets of braised short ribs set menu. The prices were quite high.

Not only was the wait long, but even after ordering, we had to wait a long time. I'm not sure if it's because there aren't enough staff or if they're just slow. It would have been nice if they had given us the basic side dishes first, which was a shame.

While waiting for the corvina, our little one waited quietly...

The waiting time was longer than expected, so I ended up breastfeeding at the restaurant. There is no separate nursing area, but I just sat on a chair and did it quickly. It doesn't seem to be a good restaurant to bring a baby!

After waiting about 15 minutes, the Gulbi rice set menu finally arrived!

It was less than I expected. I am not sure if the taste of steamed corvina is normally like this. It felt a bit dry, so it felt a little hard. I felt like I was going to get indigestion.

The other side dishes were all delicious. The seasoning wasn't too strong and was just right.

The soybean paste stew had a slightly bland taste, so it was good to take a sip while eating the corvina. The green tea water was cool, so it was easy to drink with rice.

But the main dish, the corvina... wasn't good... I didn't take a picture of the braised short ribs set menu because I was too busy, but the side dishes were the same. The taste of the braised short ribs was okay, but my family members with sensitive palates didn't like it because they said it smelled.

The main dishes weren't good, but the price was too expensive, so I won't be coming back a second time. I wasn't satisfied overall because the parking was bad, the wait was long, and the food came out too late. I don't know why the reviews are good because it wasn't good to my taste...^^
