After hiking Hallasan Mountain in Jeju during the fall, I explored the area near my accommodation and discovered a popular restaurant in Pyoseon known for its thick-cut pork.

I'm excited to introduce you to Jeju Haevichi Hotel 맛집 (mat-jib, a Korean word that means a really good restaurant), which impressed me with its juicy meat and rich flavor.


1. Chil Don Ga Pyoseon Main Branch

Address: 13-1, Pyoseondangpo-ro, Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

Hours: 12:00 - 22:00, Closed every Wednesday

Chil Don Ga Pyoseon Main Branch, renowned as a local favorite, was just a 5-minute walk from Haevichi Hotel. Its large, clear signage made it easily visible from afar. The restaurant occupies the first floor of a two-story building right in front of the coast.

The interior is filled with round tables and ventilation systems, and the walls are covered with customer signatures. It had a cozy atmosphere that has been loved for years.

This Jeju Haevichi Hotel 맛집 is so popular that there's a separate waiting area. The cleanliness of the restaurant gave me confidence that I could trust the food here.

After alternating between wrapping the meat in kimchi and pickled radish, a plate of meat disappeared in an instant. Just then, the kimchi stew arrived.

The broth was rich and savory. The combination of pork, tofu, and well-fermented kimchi made it easy to finish a bowl of rice.

Thanks to the spicy stew that eliminated any greasiness, the meal was perfect. Adding leftover pieces of meat was another delicacy.

The combination of fresh meat and well-fermented kimchi, along with the friendly service, made me realize why this place is called a Jeju Haevichi Hotel 맛집.

After the meal, I took a walk around the harbor right in front of the restaurant. Finishing the day by feeling the sea breeze and smelling the ocean left a lingering feeling of travel.

If you're staying near Pyoseon Port, be sure to include this place in your itinerary. It's an ideal course where you can enjoy a hearty meal and a walk by the sea.

I want to recommend this place, where the flavor of the thick-cut pork and the warm touch remain in my memory, as a true Jeju Haevichi Hotel 맛집.


2. Suksungdo Jungmun Branch

Address: 1, 2F, 1101, Iljuseo-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

Hours: Daily 11:30 - 21:15

Menu: Aged Bone-in Pork Shoulder (360g) 38,000 KRW

At Suksungdo Jungmun Branch, you can taste various types of professionally aged premium pork. Eating the soft and moist Jeju black pork made me feel like I was eating a high-end steak.


3. Yeon Don

Address: 10, Saekdal-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

Hours: Daily 12:00 - 21:00

Menu: Pork Loin Cutlet 11,000 KRW

Both the thickly sliced and fried pork loin cutlet and pork tenderloin cutlet were delicious, but the cheese cutlet was perfect for me, who prefers a rich cheese flavor. The crispy and moist texture of the freshly fried cutlet is excellent, and the combination of the sauce with a deep flavor and the cheese-filled cutlet was fantastic.


4. Dajeongine Gimbap Seogwipo New Town Branch

Address: 796, Ieodo-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

Hours: 07:30 - 20:00

Menu: Anchovy Gimbap 5,500 KRW

Dajeongine Gimbap's signature menu is the egg gimbap filled with fluffy eggs, and the salty anchovy gimbap was also very popular. You can also eat snack menus that are good to eat with ramen, tteokbokki, and hairtail fries. Behind the store, there is a beautiful outdoor garden and terrace seating, so you can enjoy delicious snacks as if you were on a picnic on a nice day.


5. Negeori Restaurant

Address: 20, Seomun-ro 29beon-gil, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

Hours: Daily 07:00 - 21:40

Menu: Hairtail Fish Soup 16,000 KRW

Negeori Restaurant's signature menu, hairtail fish soup, is a clean and refreshing dish with a slightly spicy flavor added to the milky white broth. In addition to hairtail fish soup, which uses fresh raw hairtail fish and has no fishy smell at all, you can also enjoy grilled hairtail fish and braised hairtail fish, which are loved by people of all ages. It is easily accessible as it is located on a Jungmun road, and you can easily use it because the waiting is notified by Tok.
