Six years into freelancing... While I love the flexibility of working according to my own rhythm, I've come to truly appreciate the things I took for granted when I was employed – coffee breaks with close colleagues, casual chats, and even (???) office gossip. They really did support my daily life.

When I felt something was off, I wondered if it was my workspace, so I separated my home and work areas. Or if it was my work itself, so I started new projects. Or if it was how I used my free time, so I tried to make the most of my leisure time. But ultimately, I realized that having people to share my daily life with is important.

So, I've come full circle and am back to working 10 to 7, just like in my office days... It's making me realize why old rules stick around.

Anyway.

After a long time, I attended a 'Mo-Gak' (gathering for focused work) meetup and had lunch with the group.

Today, there were three of us including me, but one person left to try a different restaurant, and the two of us had lunch together. Because we usually just greet each other when we're working and don't talk much, I don't know much about her, but she's a regular at the meetup, so it was comfortable eating together. I've been living in Hapjeong for five years now, and I'm finally getting around to exploring the local lunch spots...

Normally, you'd have a daytime drink at a good restaurant, but I had to work afterward, so I resisted and just ordered food.

At first.

But after one bite of the meat, I immediately ordered a highball...

The highball completes the flavor of the meat. I highly recommend ordering it together.

I usually try to work intensely with the meetup members for 3 hours in the morning and then work alone in the afternoon, but I never end up working at home alone. So today, I worked with them in the afternoon too.

I first went to Nocturne (카페 이름) last week and thought it was great!

It's a cafe that also serves as a bar. I tried the Korean melon latte and the Red Black Summer, and both were delicious! The only downside is that the drinks are so good that I can't stop drinking them, so I run out of drinks by the end of my work session. The bar opens at 7 PM, so I'm thinking of going there for drinks next time.
