As a self-proclaimed seafood fanatic,

I decided to visit Sushi 101 in Noryangjin for my birthday, as I heard it recently opened.

Here's everything you need to know, from making a reservation to getting discounts and whether it's worth the price!

How to Make a Reservation at Sushi 101

Sushi 101 is located on the 2nd floor of the Noryangjin Fish Market.

It's a popular premium sushi buffet among those in the know, serving fresh, seasonal seafood sourced from the Noryangjin 새벽 (dawn) auction.

Reservations can be made through Catch Table.

Reservations for the following month open at 10 AM on the 1st of each month. For example, reservations for December open on November 1st at 10 AM.

Make sure to set an alarm!

My Visit to Sushi 101

✔️ Parking is available on the 3rd and 4th floors > Sushi 101 is on the 2nd floor.

✔️ If you take elevators 3, 4, 7, or 8, you'll pass through the fish market area (회식당 - a place to eat purchased fish).

》 Head to the 중앙홀 (central hall) on the opposite side > Sushi 101

✔️ 1 hour free parking (parking discount coupon provided)

Sushi 101 is located at the entrance of Noryangjin 101.

I've wanted to visit Noryangjin 101 too, but Sushi 101 came first!

It's a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, and you can order items that aren't readily available.

Although it's a premium sushi buffet located at the entrance to Noryangjin 101,

The atmosphere doesn't quite feel premium.

Also, there's a one-hour time limit,

So instead of slowly enjoying a meal with drinks like in an omakase restaurant,

It felt more like quickly ordering and eating what I wanted.

Unfortunately, they didn't have flounder fin on the day I went. I was disappointed.

Since it's a sushi restaurant, if you remove the rice and only eat the fish,

There's a ₩50,000 environmental fee per person.

Sushi 101 Tips & Tricks

Tip 1) Check the available toppings at the entrance and order what you want right away.

Don't be shy!!

I couldn't get engawa (flounder fin) because it wasn't available,

But I ordered and kept eating uni (sea urchin), crab, and ankimo (monkfish liver).

My favorite combination was below!

Uni + sweet shrimp ✨

But the uni wasn't great on the day I went. It had a slightly bitter taste...

I ordered salmon roe out of curiosity,

But don't order it. It's fishy. ㅠ

Tip 2) ₩10,000 corkage fee per person for wine/whiskey/sake

But I don't think you need corkage.

I was considering corkage since it's relatively cheap,

But I ended up not doing it.

After going there, I realized there wasn't enough time with the one-hour limit,

So I wouldn't recommend corkage!

I'm the type of person who can't enjoy sushi without alcohol,

But if I had drunk alcohol,

I would have been too full to eat anything else.

They also sell alcohol in the refrigerator, so those who want to drink corkage can buy it cheaply.

Tip 3) Recommend visiting in pairs!

The seats are narrower than I thought, so it looked cramped for 3 or more people.

It feels optimized for dates for two.

Sushi 101 Lineup

Overall, it's raw fish sushi, not aged sushi.

They use premium seasonal ingredients,

So the taste/ingredients are omakase-level o, but the atmosphere is not premium x.

The tempura was really delicious ????

The green tea that comes as a basic drink was also delicious.

Tips for Getting Discounts at Sushi 101

Sushi 101 offers discounts with Onnuri Gift Certificates,

So you can effectively eat at a 10% cheaper price!

₩68,000 x 2 people

But with a 10% discount, it's like eating for ₩61,200.

You can purchase them on the Digital Onnuri app.

I received ₩100,000 Onnuri right before the holidays,

So I effectively ate for ₩30,000.

개이득 (great deal)!!

Originally, there's one hour of free parking,

But parking is free from 10/5 to 10/10.

Good to visit on anniversaries..????
