Sijeol Uyeon: Affordable and Delicious Korean Dining Near Cheongdam Station
12-1 Dosan-daero 56-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

Sijeol Uyeon, a Korean restaurant in Cheongdam, offers great value near Cheongdam Station.
Last Friday, I visited this pre-booked restaurant with my girlfriend. We enjoyed high-quality Korean dining, including Daegwallyeong Korean beef, at this affordable Cheongdam Station gem. Here’s my review.
1. Location of Sijeol Uyeon near Cheongdam Station
Sijeol Uyeon in Cheongdam is about a 7-minute walk from Gangnam-gu Office Station. Its stylish exterior stands out, making it easy to find.
Address: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Floors, 12-1 Dosan-daero 56-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
Operating Hours: 11:00 - 23:00 (Closed on Sundays) / Break Time: 15:00 - 17:00
2. Interior of Sijeol Uyeon
Upon entering, we were greeted by a luxurious and satisfying atmosphere. My girlfriend especially loved it, making the visit worthwhile from the start.
We also spotted framed autographs of many celebrities. Knowing that prominent figures from various fields have visited this place made me feel proud.
The restaurant has multiple floors, with private rooms on the 2nd floor and a VIP membership lounge on the 3rd floor. We dined on the 1st floor in the open hall area.
3. Menu
Looking at the menu, I understood the meaning behind the restaurant's name. "Sijeol Uyeon" represents a sentimental space that cherishes the relationships of time, perfectly capturing my taste.
After some deliberation, we decided to order the Unchisal and Tenderloin, two of the top menu items. We also added several side dishes for a fulfilling date night.
Soon, the table setting was complete. I couldn't help but notice not only the Korean beef but also the side dishes.
The salad was dressed with perilla seed sauce, which stimulated my appetite with its savory flavor.
The handmade pickled cucumber was crisp and refreshing. All side dishes are made with ingredients sourced from Gangwon Province.
The lotus root jangajji (pickled vegetables) was a perfect combination of the root's unique crisp texture and the sweet, sour, and salty taste of the jangajji.
The homemade kimchi made a lasting impression with its intense flavor, tender texture, and delicate aroma.
The bellflower root salad was of such high quality that it could easily be served as a standalone dish. It was comparable to a high-end traditional Korean meal, making my mouth very happy.
4. Daegwallyeong Korean Beef Unchisal & Tenderloin
The main course, Daegwallyeong Korean beef, was neatly arranged on a plate. It consisted of rare cuts that are hard to find, so I was very excited to taste them.
The restaurant uses antibiotic-free Korean beef raised at an altitude of 700m. The staff carefully set up the charcoal grill to ensure the heat wasn't too intense.
The tenderloin was visually appealing and raised my expectations. The staff grilled the meat and kindly explained each cut.
Their dedication to grilling was admirable. The sight of the juicy meat made my mouth water.
They cut the meat into cubes and allowed it to rest for a certain amount of time, showcasing their skill in bringing out the best in the ingredients.
The tenderness of the meat was evident just by looking at it. I couldn't wait to taste it.
After grilling the Unchisal, they moved it to a specially made brazier, allowing us to enjoy the consistent flavor throughout the meal.
The various seasonings enhanced the exquisite taste. I was grateful to this restaurant for this experience.
The Unchisal, the restaurant's signature dish, was exceptionally savory and tender with abundant juice. The spicy and slightly bitter bellflower root salad complemented it perfectly.
We enjoyed the meal with wine, which made the experience even more pleasant. Seeing my girlfriend's bright smile melted away my fatigue.
5. Tenderloin Katsu Sando
The Tenderloin Katsu Sando was visually stunning. It was topped with gold flakes, adding to its luxurious appearance.
The balance between the chewy tenderloin and the soft bread was perfect. The edible gold flakes added an extra touch of luxury.
6. Korean Beef Soybean Paste Stew
For our meal, we chose the Korean Beef Soybean Paste Stew, but there are other options available to suit your taste.
I fell in love with the rich flavor of the soybean paste, which is darker and more intense than regular soybean paste. The generous amount of Korean beef made it my favorite.
7. Overall Review
Sijeol Uyeon Cheongdam, which aims to offer value beyond just Korean beef dining, certainly has its charms. It was a memorable experience thanks to the authentic flavors and excellent service.
