Shabu All Day Seoul Sinnae Branch: A Paid Review - A Little Disappointing?
227 Bonghwasan-ro, Jungnang-gu, Seoul
샤브올데이 서울신내점

Recently, I visited Shabu All Day Seoul Sinnae(샤브올데이 서울신내점) with my family. Following my previous experience at the Cheonho branch, I had high expectations for this premium shabu-shabu buffet. Located in a detached building with dedicated parking, it offers a convenient dining spot for those in the Jungnang-gu area.
While the vegetables were notably fresh and the side dishes were served warm, my overall experience was a mix of satisfaction and disappointment. From the tight seating arrangements to some inconsistencies in meat quality and service, here is an honest, "my own money" review of what to expect when visiting this specific branch on a busy weekend.
Atmosphere and Dining Space
Unlike the more spacious Seoul Cheonho branch, the Seoul Sinnae location felt somewhat cramped. The interior isn't very large, and the seat spacing felt tight, which made navigating the buffet area a bit difficult during the crowded Sunday lunch hour.
Despite the high traffic, the parking situation was manageable. Although we had to double-park due to the volume of cars, the detached building setup provided enough room right in front of the store. However, the indoor temperature was uncomfortably warm, which was a sentiment shared by several other diners during our visit.
Broth Selection and Pricing
One thing to keep in mind is the pricing for premium broths. While the standard options are included, selecting a premium broth incurs an additional ₩3,000 per person. We opted for the Signature Brisket Broth combined with the Sichuan Mala Broth, which provided a nice variety of flavors for our meal.
Buffet Corners: Vegetables and Side Dishes
The vegetable corner at Shabu All Day Seoul Sinnae(샤브올데이 서울신내점) reminded me of a typical Malatang restaurant setup. While the ingredients were kept fresh, the narrow traffic flow made it inconvenient to grab vegetables when the store was full. Overlapping movements of customers often caused a bit of a bottleneck.
On the positive side, the hot side dishes were quite impressive. The fried chicken and other fried items were noticeably crispier than what I had experienced elsewhere. It seems the high turnover rate during peak hours ensures that the food remains hot and fresh for the diners.
Meat Quality and Freshness
The restaurant offers three types of meat: brisket, pork shoulder, and sirloin. While the brisket was satisfactory, I found the freshness and presentation of the other cuts to be slightly lacking compared to the Cheonho branch. There were no major issues with smell, but the overall quality felt a bit disappointing for a premium buffet.
Finishing the Meal: Porridge and Dessert
The final course of any shabu-shabu meal is the porridge. At this branch, instead of finding pre-wrapped portions at the buffet, you must ask the staff to bring it to your table. While the quality of the porridge itself was fine, the process was slightly less convenient than a self-service system.
The dessert zone was perhaps the most disappointing aspect. The vanilla ice cream was surprisingly bland, and while the chocolate fondue was functional, the hygiene of the station wasn't up to the standard I expected. For a high-end buffet experience, these small details in the dessert section made a significant difference in final satisfaction.
Service and Overall Impression
The service from the part-time staff felt a bit rushed and uncommunicative, likely due to the high volume of customers. Basic interactions, such as announcing when a dish was served, were missing. However, given how crowded it was, it's understandable that the staff might have been quite exhausted.
Final Thoughts for Visitors
Shabu All Day Seoul Sinnae has clear strengths, such as the freshness of its vegetables and the quality of its hot side dishes. However, the cramped space and inconsistencies in meat quality were noticeable drawbacks during a weekend visit. If you prefer a more relaxed and spacious environment, you might find other branches more to your liking.
That said, it remains a solid option for those in Jungnang-gu looking for an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu experience. With a few improvements in hygiene and service during peak times, it could easily match the high standard set by its larger counterparts. If you plan to visit, I recommend avoiding the busiest lunch rush to enjoy a slightly cooler and more attentive atmosphere.
