Seogangsoe Tteokbokki: A Delicious 분식 Spot Near Nambu Bus Terminal

Hi everyone, it's Hodeul!
The weather's gotten so chilly that I can't go out with bare legs anymore.
I had some *odeng* (fish cake) soup at a *bunsik* (Korean snack food) restaurant during lunch today, and it was just perfect for this weather! Haha.
Today, I'm introducing a great restaurant: Seogangsoe Tteokbokki, located near Nambu Bus Terminal Station and the Seoul Arts Center.
In Nambu Bus Terminal, a bit of a barren land for *tteokbokki* (spicy rice cake) restaurants,
I felt like I finally discovered a decent place!
Let's get right to the review.
Seogangsoe Tteokbokki Nambu Bus Terminal Branch
It's a 6-minute walk from Exit 5 of Nambu Bus Terminal Station!
And a 7-minute walk from the Seoul Arts Center!
Business Hours:
Weekdays: 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM
Saturdays: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Closed on Sundays!
I was surprised that a *bunsik* restaurant opened so early, but
they have 10 different kinds of *gimbap* (seaweed rice rolls)!
It's almost a *gimbap* specialty shop.
That must be why the sign says *Tteokbokki & Gimbap*.
It would be great to grab some to-go on your way to work in the morning!
Inside the Restaurant:
Here's the inside of the restaurant!
There's a bar table next to the water dispenser and
three 4-seater tables, making it a bit small.
It's a good place for solo diners or small groups,
but the turnover rate is quite fast, so if there's a wait,
wait and give it a try!
Luckily, there was a table available, so I sat right down.
People also eat *tteokbokki* while standing here!
The *garae-tteok* (long cylinder rice cakes) *tteokbokki* is neatly lined up in a row!
The visual reminded me of a market in Busan.
It's constantly being simmered, so
I was already drooling, thinking it would be delicious without even trying it. Hehe.
Menu and Food:
The menu is posted in various places.
Since there were three of us,
we ordered the *Tteok-Soon-Twi* set (Tteokbokki, Sundae, Fried foods) and an extra serving of *tteokbokki*!
They asked if we wanted innards with the *sundae* (Korean blood sausage).
Yay! I love places that give you innards~~~
Of course, we do! Hehe.
If you're eating in the restaurant,
you can use the kimchi and pickled radish from the self-serve bar.

*Tteok-Soon-Twi* Set
Additional *Tteokbokki*
For 3 people

A full spread of *Tteok-Soon-Twi*~~~
Drinking the *odeng* soup they gave us first~
It felt like it was warming me up inside~~~
It's been so long since I drank from a paper cup like this.
It reminds me of a *bunsik* place in front of school and my student days. Hehe.
Let's get ready to eat!
What I'm most curious about is~~ the *tteokbokki*~~
The long *garae-tteok tteokbokki~
They cut it into pieces, which felt nice and homey.
I scooped it up with the sauce using a spoon.
Wow, it's been simmered for so long that the sauce is really well absorbed!
And the *garae-tteok* is really chewy.
It was a little spicy, but I liked that it wasn't too strong!!
Slurping up the sauce, slurping, slurping
Good job~

The fried items were *gimmari* (seaweed spring rolls), *yaki mandu* (fried dumplings), squid *twigim* (fritters), and sweet potato *twigim*.
They gave us plenty of sauce~
So we could soak the *twigim* in it sufficiently. Hehe.

*Sundae* that came with the innards.
If a place offers innards, you have to eat them.
Dipping it in salt, dipping it in the sauce.
It feels more filling eating *sundae* with it.

Cleared it down to the last drop of sauce. Hehe
Yay~~~ I feel so proud that I ate everything so thoroughly. Hehehe.

In Conclusion:
This was my review of Seogangsoe Tteokbokki Nambu Bus Terminal branch, where I had a proper meal that reminded me of *tteokbokki* from in front of my school!
I think we ate in about 20 minutes.
Given the nature of *bunsik*, the food comes out quickly, so it's perfect for a short lunch break!

For office workers in Nambu Bus Terminal and Seocho, when you're craving *tteokbokki* or *bunsik*!
Or to buy *gimbap* on your way to work in the morning!
Or to quickly grab a bowl of *ramyeon* (Korean ramen) to cure your hangover!
It seemed like a great place to visit without any pressure.

I found out that there are also branches in Gangnam Station and Apgujeong Rodeo.
There are three branches: Gangnam, Apgujeong, and Seocho,
and it was already famous for its thick *garae-tteok tteokbokki*!
I'm proud that it's in Nambu Bus Terminal. Hehehe.

I often eat alone,
so next time I visit alone, I'm going to try the mixed serving for one person.

That's all for now,
Thank you for reading today.
