Finding Samsan Myeongtae Village & Basic Information

Samsan Myeongtae Village is located in the heart of Samsan-dong, making it easily accessible due to its convenient transportation options. You can easily reach it by bus or subway, and there is also ample parking space if you're driving. It's a good idea to check the operating hours, days closed, and reservation availability in advance to make your visit smoother. It tends to get crowded during lunch and dinner hours, so reservations are recommended. Also, remember to check if the restaurant is a participating merchant for the 'Sangsaeng Payback' program to take advantage of card benefits when paying. They are closed on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month.

Atmosphere and Service Experience

The interior of the restaurant blends traditional and modern decor, creating a clean and cozy atmosphere. There is a mix of floor seating and table seating, making it flexible for various types of gatherings. The staff responded quickly to menu inquiries and requests, and they were attentive to refilling water and side dishes, making for a comfortable experience. During the meal, a sign indicating that the restaurant participates in the 'Sangsaeng Payback' program was visible near the cashier, and I was able to actually use this benefit when paying, which was even more satisfying. Both the atmosphere and service were consistently good, making me want to visit again.

Must-Try Dishes: Braised Pollack (Myeongtae Jorim) & Braised Hairtail (Galchi Jorim)

Let me introduce you to the Braised Pollack (Myeongtae Jorim), the dish I was most looking forward to. The large pollack is served with plenty of radish, and the spicy and flavorful sauce is perfectly infused, making it a dish that goes great with rice. The bones are removed, making it easy to eat, and the portion size is generous, making the small size suitable for two people. Next, the Braised Hairtail (Galchi Jorim) is notable for its much softer texture. The slightly sweet sauce and moist hairtail are harmonious, and even those who don't handle spice well can enjoy it with adjusted seasoning. These two dishes complement each other perfectly, so I recommend ordering them together.

Specialty Dishes: Steamed Skate (Gao-ri Jjim), Spicy Fish Roe Soup (Al Tang), & Grilled Fish

In addition to the pollack and hairtail dishes, three other specialties stood out. The Steamed Skate (Gao-ri Jjim) has a chewy texture and a spicy sauce, making it fun to eat. Eating it with bean sprouts enhances the texture and makes it a hearty meal. The Spicy Fish Roe Soup (Al Tang) has a rich and spicy broth that is excellent, and the cool soup helps cleanse the palate between the braised dishes. Finally, the Grilled Fish had a satisfying balance of crispy skin and moist flesh. I particularly enjoyed mixing the grilled fish with the braised/steamed dishes for a varied and non-monotonous meal.

'Sangsaeng Payback' Program & Payment Tips + Overall Review

One of the great advantages of this restaurant is that it is registered with the 'Sangsaeng Payback' program. I was able to receive benefits under this program when paying, which reduced the financial burden of the meal. Checking in advance whether a restaurant participates in the 'Sangsaeng Payback' program makes for a smarter dining experience. By taking advantage of the 'Sangsaeng Payback' program, you can enjoy both discounts and accruals, and be sure to ask when paying if you can combine it with other programs. Overall, Samsan Myeongtae Village is a restaurant that has it all: menu selection, taste, service, and benefits. I was very satisfied with the variety of dishes available, from Braised Pollack and Braised Hairtail to Steamed Skate, Spicy Fish Roe Soup, and Grilled Fish, and I am 100% willing to visit again.
